Guest guest
Dear DT, Each case is a very typical case when pregnancy is concerned. No amount of generalisation is useful. And even over-reliance on some herbs is not beneficial, because some favourable reports are quoted as praising them. I had made aware of the impending pit-falls in the very early stages of this discussion. After all the doctor who checks the pregnant mother is in the best position to do justice to her and her baby. No vaidya or doctor can anticipate a situation and give you sound advice on net. Keeep in touch with your doctor / obstetrician. Your frank statement that she needs insulin shots in spite of use of fenugreek seeds has completed one circle of essential discussion on gestational diabetes which had prolonged till the last week. Atleast the vindicated stand is now clear by your follow-up of the case. This will definitely benefit many in correcting their views about such issues. Dr.D.B.Muzumdar ___________________ After several appointments with the endocrinologist and trying a low carb diet suggested by the diabetes center my wife is left with no choice but getting insulin shots before meals to control the sugar levels. Moreover her ob/gyn was concerned about her not gaining weight as she approaches her 34th week in pregnancy. Her ob/gyn mentioned that she must gain atleast 3 lbs and asked her to eat high calorie foods like yogurt and cheese and not to miss any insulin shots. With all this she is still taking water from soaked fenugreek seeds. Hope this is alright.
