Guest guest
Dear all, Could you please explain the concept of secondary tissue (upadhatu) compared to the main tissue, and how an upadhatu relates to its dhatu ? What is the upadhatu of Rasa ? Rakta ? Mamsa ? etc. Thanks in advance Thierry
Guest guest
To Thierry and all, Upadhatus are the products of dhatus. Dhatus are spread all over the body, but the upadhatus are anatomically limited and have limited -specific function. Upadhatu formation and their function can get disturbed if the main dhatus get diseased, but dhatus may not get disturbed if upadhatus get diseased. Upadhatus are dependant on their parent dhatu. In Ayurvedic granthas, upadhatus of the first four dhatus are mentioned. There is no reference to upadhatus of last three dhatus. They are as follows- Rasa - Raja and Stanya Rakta - Kandara and Sira Mamsa - Vasa and six Twacha Meda - Snayu Dr.D.B.Muzumdar Ayurveda Consultant M.D.Ayurveda-Medicine _____ Could you please explain the concept of secondary tissue (upadhatu) compared to the main tissue, and how an upadhatu relates to its dhatu ?
