Guest guest
This thread brings up many important issues. The general thread is related to the post I made yesterday on HPA-axis issues. What is the major problem here? I call it pituitary confusion. Because of many contradictory hormonal imbalances the Hypothalamus-Pituitary- Adrenal balance can no longer be kept, so the body loses control of several of its most important regulatory functions. One of these pathways; when the cells are blocked by ama and the subsequent build up of toxins (these are glycation processes, these processes are combinations of poorly digested proteins and carbohydrates which have a sticky quality and have become a reservoir for toxins the major ones being acids of various types but other toxins will be present like aldehydes, peroxides, heavy metals, and more) then energy production is greatly inhibited. This lack of energy is sent as a signal to the pituitary and it sends signals to the thyroid gland and it's cellular functions, to produce thyroid hormone; but because the problem has nothing to do with inadequate thyroid hormone the body is flooded with excess unneeded hormone, this causes the cells to block the T3 and T4 functions so that the cells will not be overwhelmed, this is a major pathway for the many hypometabolic disorders that are frequently seen like CFS and the so called Wilson's Syndrome (T3 blockade). This is called non thyroid hypometabolism, a syndrome seen constantly in the modern clinic, it will have dozens of symptoms related to hypometabolic conditions; low temperature, hyper acidity, low energy (even energy collapse), depression, generalized low organ function, brain chemical imbalances, heat and cold intolerance, generalized inflammatory conditions, on and on. The symptoms of low metabolism are virtually endless, if allowed, it would take many of these patients' hours to list all of their symptoms. Many practioners seem to think that high ama, high Pitta conditions are minor issues but they are among the most destructive processes that the body is challenged with, and an explanation for many of the most serious diseases, like cancer (a disease of stasis), arthritis (another disease of stasis and the accompanying acid toxins), osteoporosis (another disease of static acid accumulation which are destroying the bones by drawing on the calcium reserves there in an attempt to balance the high acid conditions, also high acid levels simply weakens bones), arteriosclerosis ( another problem caused by hypometabolism and the inflammations which flourish in such static toxic acid conditions). Another issue which relates to the thread about stress and which was mentioned above; brain chemical imbalance. We have a common problem of people being both hypometabolic and hypersensitive/ hyper reactive. This is caused by the accumulation of the acid toxins which act as constant irritants, such people feel anxious, it is often called `tired but wired', the Chinese call this Yin fire, meaning the body is full of both cold and false heat symptoms, the false heat is the acids and other stimulating substances which create symptoms of over heating although the body is actually cold), this is what I was referring to yesterday in the post on hypertension. This inherent contradiction severely imbalances the balance of the 5 major brain chemicals, which are trying to deal with these contradictions of being very low in energy but at the same time are very over stimulated. These mechanisms are important stress conditions in millions of modern people. When the over stimulation no longer allows an individual to ever relax or sleep properly, then the hormonal systems are never able to recover (this is what Hans Selye was referring to when he described the maladaption syndrome which he called stress). I do not agree with the idea that these conditions cause permanent damage to the brain, it is true that these conditions create powerful and difficult to correct declining functions, but I have seen very good recovery from very severe cases, even in ageing people, when all of these issues can become quite serious and life threatening. In fact, many of these problems are what many people are referring to when they talk about the ageing process. I recently saw a severe case of a man in his early 70s who recovered from a lifetime of hypometabolic syndromes including CFS, he achieved this basically with shodhana therapies and medicines, mild exercise, and diet, it took him about 3 years to achieve a state where he was able to live a normal life, before that he had been virtually housebound for over 10 years. He told me that all of those years of suffering " seemed like a dream or a nightmare but now I have awakened " . These are big and important subjects but traditional medicine has offered clear-cut explanations and treatments for many of these problems and slowly but surely we modern scientists are getting back to the basics that they described. At a later time I will give my opinion about substances like Magnesium, it's uses and it's usefulness, and it's limitations. Liz ______________ > What I found interesting about this topic is that while being tested for our need for Magnesium, with an initial need rating of +19, once the pituitary gland received some healing energy from the AVR (Autonomic Vascular Response) practitioner we were visiting, the need for Magnesium reduced to +2 in both subjects......
