This is Manish Sharma(22), from Malad(West) Mumbai. I would

like to post my ayurveda treatment experience.

About a month ago, I started experiencing low back pain, the pain

radiating to big toe right through the leg. The pain increased while getting up

from the chair

and while walking I was experiencing mild shake of the leg. I had

the feeling of loosing balance, though I did not fall down anytime.

Within 3-4 days my mom took me to a Vaidya. He asked me to lie down

and did pulse check and marma points check lasting about 15 minutes,

silently.

" You are suffering from vitiated Vata, as a result of some nerve

pinching between Cervical 1,2 and 5th lumbar vertebra and sacral

part of spine, but the problem is of recent origin, say about two

months. Ayurvedic term is Grudhrasi, while modern medicine calls it

sciatica. The disease has started early, due to truncal obesity and

poor spine posture while sitting. You are suffering from low back

pain and pain in legs too " He made a bulls eye hit. I added the

symptom of leg shake, for completeness. No X-ray, no MRI or blood

tests!

" Now you have two options. One is slow approach, requiring taking

panchgavya medicines and some tablets, needing about 2 months of

medication. Other approach is difficult but sure and fast. Choose

your option " .

He made me read the second option at

My heart sank. I needed to attend the networking classes daily in

the morning, and exams were approaching in a month. I wanted fast

cure too, as taking panchgavya medicines daily was impossible. When I told my

difficulties, Vaidya explained, " considering your age and recent

start of the disease, I will allow you to simplify the program, so

that it can be completed in 16 days and you will be able to attend

the classes except for first four days. "

I accepted the choice and started the programme. Each stage of part

B was pruned from One week to 4 days only. Parijata leaves were

available in close neighbourhood, which my mom would get while taking morning

walk.

During first two days I was feeling strong hunger but could manage

slowly with just ginger tea. For first six days, I eliminated

brownish, blackish water, having very foul smell. Even repeated

flushing could not remove the smell.

The pain and shake had vanished by sixth day itself. Food cravings

had disappeared entirely. On eighth day, I started feeling dizziness

and was about to blank out. I contacted Vaidya and he advised to

take a pinch or two of salt with a little water. I felt good after

that, but continued to avoid salt from next day.

On 12th day I was called for check up. Pulse had balanced out,

temperature, B.P. all was normal. I was feeling my body had become

quite light. When I weiged myself, I had lost 7 Kg weight (about 16 pounds),

from 94 kg

to 87 kg. Already pants were loose at waist. I was asked to continue to

fruits diet and report for check up on 16th day.

On 16th day, all parameters were normal and one more Kg weight loss

was the result. Vata pulse was totally silent. I was walking erect, no pain,

no shake, no weakness, as fruits had given strength too. B.P. was

105/70, close to ayurvedic normal according to vaidya.

I was advised to reach normal diet within 3 to 4 days, taking wheat

at most once a day and reducing salt to minimum possible.

Cost of the medicine for 16 days was less than Rs 100/-.

I have posted the experience so that suffering is minimized

everywhere.
