Guest guest
Hi Mary Ellen, Sounds to me like you need a Total Body Cleanse. You can find this information in the files on our website. Also try switching to organic foods as much as possible - at the very least you should be eating only Organic meats/poultry, not commercial meats/poultry. Also contact Doc off-line and get his free lecture tape. This will help you with the change of diet :-) After that, you can call Doc for a consult, to help you fine tune your program to your own needs. love Lisa - Mary Ellen herbal remedies Wednesday, January 26, 2005 7:02 PM Herbal Remedies - Sarcoidosis This is my first post, so it will be an introduction too. I guess if one accesses my personal profile, you can find out about me in a nutshell. I am glad to meet all of you and I thoroughly look forward to reading previous messages from this group. I've had an interest in alternative healing and information for years, but I also enjoy growing my own herbs, I prepare my own echinacea and such things for my own use. I don't necessarily take the preparations unless I need them and I haven't really needed them, until now. I've been healthy up until the past 2 years.I'm 50 and have "thought" I've been going thru menopause or that my issues of the past few years have been attributed to the change. However, in the last 4 months, things have started to change. But back to the beginning...2 years ago I developed a terrible cough that remained consistently terrible for a full year. It was a dry cough. It seems salt irritate it, even now. I went to the doctors a few times. They put me on some pill for coughs that had no affect whatsoever. I was also sent to a pulminary doctor and did the whole breathing-tube thing and they put me on Advair. I threw it away after a month as it was having no affect whatsoever. At that point, I just decided to suck it up and hope for the best. The cough actually got a little better to the point it didn't wear me out anymore, but I still have it.Then about 4 months ago, other things started happening. For one thing, I started detecting a muscle fatigue and breathlessness. Just climbing the stairs makes me run out of breath, but not drastically so. I simply can feel the physical stress to my lungs. This muscle fatigue is still with me today. Then, I started developing thirst, puffy, swollen and bloodshot eyes that become blurry and run constantly, overall fatigue, and a feeling that the bottom of my feet are swollen. To top this off, about a month ago, I noticed my face getting "fat." This has been rather comical to some extent as I kept wondering why my glasses seemed to be looking so small on me all of a sudden. I have been wondering why all my weight has been "going to face" all of a sudden. Well, duh, finally a few weeks ago, I actually touched my face and realized that the sides of my face were swollen and rock hard. Not only that, but the glands in my neck were swollen too. I happened to be in Chicago at the time and couldn't do much about it but get on the internet and start trying to connect the dots, as the doctors don't seem to be able to do this well.Anyhow, I came up with a diagnosis of Sarcoidosis. I then went to the VA hospital upon returning home (yes, I'm a Vet), and went to the emergency room which happens to be run by a friend of my partner (Peter). I didn't mention sarcoidosis to her; I wanted to see what she came up with. After viewing chest x-rays and seeing swollen glands there too, and coupled with the other info, she also came up with that diagnosis. However, we are now awaiting blood tests results. Sinuses are clear and mono has been ruled out.The ENT doctor at the VA wouldn't see me until I went through a course of antibiotics. I am supplementing that with Lacto-S-Plus, because at this point, that's all I know to do to counteraffect the antibiotic affects. I've got to admit that only after 2 days, I'm already feeling better; at least better than I have been in a long time. The swelling has diminished just a bit, but mostly the overall fatigue has lessened and the eye situation has improved greatly. The muscle fatigue and breathlessness and coughing is still about the same.I had to have my thyroid out in 1995; well, I probably didn't HAVE to have it out...now I find out they could had avoided that with some intelligent thought, but you know how that is! So, I'm on 0.2 mg of synthroid. I WAS taking 10 mg of Zyrtec because I thought I had bad allergies, but now I'm thinking NOT. My periods are very irregular, which I attribute to the change, but I don't even know about that anymore either! I drink lots of water; no sodas or juices or milk. I do drink some unsweet tea, green tea and about 2 cups of coffee in the morning. I grind organic beans. I use filtered water. I buy organic if I can, but finances don't allow that too much anymore, but IF I can, I do. Yes, we do eat some unbleached, unbromated flour products that I make myself, but I'm starting to learn to bake with spelt flour. Yes, I do eat some dark chocolate. I have pretty much given up the red wine because I just don't feel up to drinking it anymore. I try to eat lots of greens, chicken, cold water fish (I'm a big sushi eater and my cholesterol had dropped 50 points), but of course there's the mercury scare so now I limit that somewhat. I can't afford excessive expensive supplements right now. But I will afford the absolute most necessary for this recent condition. My son has IBS and acid reflus really bad, and I ordered hugely expensive aloe vera capsules for him, but I wonder if a less expensive type would had done the same thing? So, I want to get some guidance and good sense before I go off on a tangent of expensive remedies.Fibromyalgia is prevelent on my mom's side. High BP on that side too. No cancer in the family. Heart on my dad's side, although he overcame his condition and has made it to age 78, though he's slowing down now. Thanks to Lynques for sending me here! That is it. This was really long but I tried to be as detailed as possible and get it all out there at once!!! I hope no one is sleeping by now or that your eyes are glazing over. I should mention that I lost my husband to a disease called primary systemic amyloidosis. It was a horrible, horrible, horrible disease and death (is any death not horrible though?), so when "sarcoidosis" came up, I kind of freaked. It's not that I freaked for myself, but for my two kids. But I'm VERY optimistic and I don't plan on going downhill; only uphill!!! Which is why I'm here. The doctors so botched up my late husband's treatment and disease, that I don't trust them one bit.Anyhow, that's it. Thanks for listening. Should I apologize for this being so long, or is a first post normally long? LOL. Bye.Mary Ellen
Guest guest
Gary, It's been a few years, so I don't have the file right in front of me. THe patient was an african american male, late 50's to early 60's, and a dentist by profession. He was distinctly deficient in the Spleen and Kidneys and had an accumulation of phlegm. In this instance, I treated him as though the Phlegm accumulation was the cause of the organ congestion and calcification. I used phlegm scouring herbs, along wit hsalty herbs to dissolve hard accumulations (like hai zao, kun bu and bie lia). Additionally, I supplemented the root deficiency of SP and KD qi. I cannot say with any certainty whether this was an isolated success, or whether such a treatment protocol could be generally effective in the treatment of the disease because I only caw the one case. But I was surprised at how effective the treatment was. The patient's main complaint was fatigue, and this improved dramatically after a month or two of treatment. It was truly one of those (Holy Shit! REALLY works moments.) I hope this is helpful. Guest guest
Twyla, Thanks for your inquiry. I feel that I must do all I can to protect the privacy of the patient. I have probably revealed enough about this patient's identity as it is. Sincerely, David Karchmer
Guest guest
I understand perfectly.....I guess I was wondering what the odds are of African American dentists coming down with sarcoidosis...(???) ...also this disease, along with Lupus and MS appear to be disproportionate in the African American community according to some recent research data. I happen to know several people with sarcoidosis....friends, family members, associates...usually middle aged and the longivety or survival rates seem grim for this particular problem. I hear of new diagnoses for Lupus and MS for both sexes very often and occuring at younger ages and with more frequency than prior decades... I don't think the person I know would have used acupuncture, however. Thanks, I too respect your patient's privacy. TH David Karchmer <acuprof wrote: Twyla, Thanks for your inquiry. Guest guest
My understanding is that sarcoidosis is an autoimmune disorder (my sister has it). You need to stay away from anything that " enhances " the immune system. Try an immune system regulator. A great one I use alot is Reishi Mushroom. It is an immune system balancer, so if your immune system is in hyper drive as with an autoimmune disorder, it will help to bring balance back to the immune system, as well as if the immune system is week it will bring it back into balance the other way... Guest guest
Hi Jen, I used to order it in bulk and grind and capsulate or mix it in food for my son. Then my son in law showed me this website where they have taken the spores of the Reishi (the most powerful part) and you can get it in capsules there, very reasonable, but what I like the most is the other delivery systems they had, which were mixing it in coffee, hot chocolate, and rooibus tea (my fave). So I signed up just so I could get it wholesale, and we swear by it.... It's potency far exceeds anything I have researched and used thus far. http://safecoffee. com/8084376/ My son is autistic and has prater willi syndrome (genetic eating disorder) and he used to be sick constantly... when I adopted him he had very little immune function from all his illnesses and contracting RSV on top of it. So the reishi, especially the Gano Excel product has been amazing. Hope that helps, Kim Rico Pabon & Kimberly Lemieux http://.360.com/iceblueyes3 Mi Encanto Arabians Where the Magic Begins..... Guest guest
Yes you can get it at this site www.alpooler.freelife.com or you can call toll free at 800-882-7240 and use Id # 480100 You will probably not get the same results from any you buy from a Health food store, those I know who have tried it did not, let us know what kind of results you get if you can, my email is homesick44 --Good luck---AL-- , Mary <hoffke02 wrote:>> Hi Al thaks for the info about sarcoidosisi.Do you know where I can get goji juice? possibly from a health food store. Thanks mary>
Guest guest
Thai-Go juice with mangosteen and wolberry juice and others worked better than the goji juice and I have sarcoidosis. The ThaiGo tested the strongest in ORAC value even of other mangosteen juices. I got it on www.mynsp.com/herbal Carol
Guest guest
This is exactly what I was refering to when you get genaric Goji juice from a health food store or copycat companies, it is not standardized like Himalayan Goji juice and you will probably not get the good results from it like the one from Freelife, guess that kind of verifies what I'm trying to say. , "Carol Hartwell" <nathlth wrote:>> Thai-Go juice with mangosteen and wolberry juice and others worked > better than the goji juice and I have sarcoidosis. Guest guest
Dear Vaidyas, Please can you advise me regarding treatment of the following patient suffering from Sarcoidosis. Although he does not have the full-blown symptoms he has a continuous shifting pain in the chest, fluctuating blood pressure, shifting knee pain all indicative of Vata imbalance. Male – 57 yrs old Vikriti pulse – high Vata primary and Pitta secondary Prakriti – Vata Kapha I have currently put him on a Vata pacifying diet and given him chest massage with Mahanaryan oil. Can you advise what would be a good herbal formulation to give him. I was thinking along the lines of Yashmadhu, as I was concerned that herbs like Vasak, Ashwaghandga may aggravate Vata and Pitta respectively. Any advice on herbs and other therapies would be appreciated. His medical doctor is open to working with me and his progress will be monitored from the medical side with CT scans. His pulse is very high on the Vata side. Thankyou for your assistance Ray
Guest guest
Dear Ray, Herbal support is not enough to deal with Sarcoidosis. With collaboration of your medical doctor you should consider the use of ayurvedic metallic preparations under pharmacovigilance. Processed Mercury is master medicine and able to engulf granulomatus toxins in the body. Swarna Sameer Pannag Ras (Dose 1 mg/kilo body weight)may be of therapeutic interest and can be used under the cover of Panchgavya and Praval Pisthi. You should monitor for metal toxicity.
