Guest guest
Dear Janice, Actually, the best for the immediate relief of acid reflux would be the Intestinal Cleanse #2 Formula. The Panther Piss should also be taken to help handle the condition on a more permanent nature, but your IC#2 is the immediate handling. Both PP and IC#2 can be taken in fruit juices and work wonders on children. Just remember your 150 rule as far as dosages are concerned. He is getting better and has stsrted to eat solids again. So in your case I would stay away from anything strong and give soothing and healing things. What you listed sounded good. Guest guest
The antibiotic I gave was one I made affter some reserch it is made with thyme, Wild Oragano and Yarrow. In my case I grew my owen and tintured them but one could buy the tintures already made and mix them when in a need to get them right now Mine has been in this tinturing form since last fall I just pour some off as needed. I used equal parts of the herbs. Peg Tax Center - online filing with TurboTax http://taxes./

Guest guest
Dear Janice, When one is using the IC#2 in doing a cleanse of the intestinal tract, one is taking 1 heaping teaspoon of the IC#2 every two to three hours = 5 or 6 times a day. This ensures that the entire tract has the formula in it througout. This gives a person the famous "Roto-Rooter" effect of cleaning out the diverticuli, removal of some polyps and old fecal casings, etc. If you take it 4 or less times throughout the day, you do not get this effect, but you will still get a healing and mildly cleansing effect. This formula has Slippery Elm Inner Bark Powder and Marshmallow Root Powder in it which are your two most effective tissue regeneration herbs and they are also very soothing to the entire gastro-intestinal tract including the stomach. IE. Heartburn can be handled in under two seconds with a heaping teaspoon of the IC#2 formula in a glass of water. Hope this helps ;o) Love, Doc Ian "Doc" Shillington N.D.505-772-5889Dr.IanShillington - manice26uk herbal remedies Thursday, April 18, 2002 2:52 PM [herbal remedies] Re: acid reflux re belowcan you explain why this is good for 'upper tract' when it is intestinal formula?as a rule would this be gived once a day and roughly how long before changes would be felt (this is a general question and not relating to my prev message re disabled child)janiceherbal remedies, "Ian Shillington N.D." <Dr.IanShillington@G...> wrote:> Dear Janice,> > Actually, the best for the immediate relief of acid reflux would be the> Intestinal Cleanse #2 Formula. Guest guest
The "150 Rule" is the best way I know of to evaluate dosages for anyone, including children. It is based on a person's weight. Most herbal dosages are based on the average weight of 150 lbs. What you do is take a person's weight and put it over 150 to make a fraction. You then reduce that fraction down to its lowest common denominator and that gives you the individual dosage for anyone. IE. If a child weighed 75 lbs, you put 75 over 150 as a fraction thusly: 75/150 This reduces down to 1/2 = a half dosage for that child. So if the recommended dosage for an adult is 2 dropperfuls 3 times a day, the dosage for that child would be 1 dropperful 3 times a day. Get the idea??? This also works if a person is overweight. Let's say you had a someone who was a little chunky = 300 lbs. You'd put 300 over 150 and get: 300/150 = 2 This person would get twice the dosage of the normal adult. IE. 4 dropperfuls 3 times a day. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Hi Sara, What is his diet like now and how has he tried to change it? Does he eat a lot of meat? Does he eat a lot of processed foods? Fried foods? Does he smoke, use drugs, take any medications other than those listed, use alcohol, drink coffee, tea? What kind of water is he drinking and what is in the water? Does he exercise at all? All the herbal treatments, or any other kind of treatments, are not going to do anything until the diet and life style are thoroughly reviewed and eliminated as suspects in this condition. Of course I realize that it could very possibly be hereditary in which case I would suggest that he stay completely away from fried greasy foods, fatty foods, processed foods. Or any other foods that create excessive acid in the system (hard to digest foods). But as I am not a dietician or medical type person it is only an opinion and suggestion. I am not qualified to treat anyone (No shingle). It is just my opinion that the majority of mans physical problems stem from his diet. I hope sincerely hope that your friend is able to overcome his problem without having to resort to using the chemicals the pharmaceutical companies are trying to tell us are good for us. Guest guest
Hi Sara I think I can offer some relief for your friend. I have a friend who has a hiatal herenia. I found out years ago of a remedy that doesn,t require medication but, a modifiication in diet. Don Eitner post was a good advice to stay away from greasy food. Which is hard to do if you love fried chicken and deep fired breaded mushrooms etc.. I was passed on advice from a person who had acid reflux due to a hiatal hernia to " Tell her to learn to sleep in a recliner, the type that adjusts to three positions and lean it out as far as it will recline. Eat light or don,t eat anything before 2 hours of retiring. Than lay in your bed as you intend to sleep, relax and if your lucky the acid won,t come up to lie in your throat -- *gravity* keeps fluids down in the stomache in a more upright position. After the stomache has digested its food during the night and a emptyness is felt you may crawl back in bed to sleep the rest of the night - otherwise gaviston and peptibismel is suggested but usually helps part of the time and can be harmful with its association of charcoal and other minerals that can damage to liver if relied on to frequently. My friend has tried this and it works it is also good for (drainage) from the sinuses. This method is used only when the acid is felt in the throat upon lying down in especially acidy foods - my friend alternates her sleeping patterns to fit her course of eating habits and knows about now which choice to use to keep the acid reflux at a minimal. And cut way down on pan fired foods. Hope this helps and can stave off harsh medications or surgery. Guest guest
Definitely ask this fellow if he has ever been on an SSRI type medication, including Prozac, Luvox, Zoloft, Celexa, or Paxil. These often cause this condition. If they are a factor, treatment is much different, and more difficult. It involves extensive screening for food allergies, and a very strict diet based on what is found. This may mean even using tapioca bread instead of wheat, and other extreme changes like that. For those who have escaped this modern initiation ritual, treatment can be very simple. If drinking enough water and cautting out caffiene haven't helped, then some peppermint tea should help. Also there is this wonderful Chinese herbal pill preparation that works wonders. It has two names: Bo Hai, or Po Chai. It is available at almost every Chinese store in the Universe. BTW, there is no such thing as GIRD according to the strict definitions of allopathic medicine. That's due to the fact that this is not a real disease -- there is no causative agent as such. The prescription medicines used to treat it are technically psychiatric medications. This means that they work on brain chemicals, fooling the system into producing less acid. Ultimately, long-term use of these can cause even worse problems, including cancer. What happens is, a lot of food ends up going through the stomach undigested. This in turn can promote problems further down the line in the intestines, as food ends up rotting there. Conventional treatment of digestive disorders is a real mess right now. Guest guest
Well something thqat helps me a lot with GERD/Acid reflux is Green Magma, or Veggie Magma. The natural enzymes in it help with digestion. I have had acid reflux since my last pregnancy and things just didn't get back to normal after the preg. I had wicked heartburn during the preg, and after the preg I kept feeling like i had a lump in my throat and food backing up into my esophagus. I think I actually have low stomach acid which causes the food to come back up. So anyway to Green Magma hellps me and my mother in law who first told me about it after she had bouts of acid reflux. Also for me avoiding dairy helps. Juliet
Guest guest
Thanks for the great info, Michael--I didn't know about the SSRIs, but I guess I'm lucky, because I was on them and I didn't get acid reflux! If he has taken anything like this, should I send him to an ND (or a nutritionist?) Where do you go for screening like that? Thanks again!! --ST >Definitely ask this fellow if he has ever been on an SSRI type medication, >including Prozac, Luvox, Zoloft, Celexa, or Paxil. These often cause this >condition.
