Guest guest
I was referred to this group by one of my friends and hope i will get some advice on my problems I am a 27 yr old lady and I underwent an abortion almost one and half year ago. Since then I get a discharge from my breast and the blood discharge during periods has also reduced(otherwise periods are regular). Some time ago I consulted a gynaec and got all hormone related tests done(TSH,Prolactin,Urine,Blood etc)and reports are OK.So my gynaec gave some general medicines and did not put me on hormones. But I dont want to go for allopathy medicines. Was browsing through net and learnt that shatavari and fenugreek can be helpuful in such problems. I request the learned members to advice if I can take these herbs for my condition and if yes where can i buy them, which company's product should I use. I have a pitta dosha and very often have itching and develop rashes on skin(this happens everyday) Dr Bhate, Dr Sachin, Mrudulaji and other members, please advise. Thanks and regards
Guest guest
It would benefit you, to see if you can find an Ayurveda Specialist in your area, because Ayurveda is it’s most affective with follow up visits… In the mean time stay a way from Fenugreek, Fenugreek will cause more breast milk… On the other hand Shatavari would be a very good for you, be careful though, it can make you more fertile; assuming nothing but the fetus was removed during the abortion… You can find it at http://www.banyanbotanicals.com/shatavari1.asp?gclid=CLraw6b42ZkCFRlcagod1E1 IXg You might also consider their Breast Balm and Women's Support… Good Luck and God bless you… Noel _______________ I am a 27 yr old lady and I underwent an abortion almost one and half year ago. Guest guest
Kanchan, Author generalizes your querry to cover the subject of abortion too. The abortion has the tendency to repeat itself, and prevent further pregnancies as fertility force gets depressed. Doctors are accustomed to think that emotions are stored only in mind and heart, but intelligence is spread all over the body. Glands are portions of nervous system and easily become depressed by trauma. Author recollects a case from Barsi, Maharashtra, where three miscarriage/abortions within three years after marriage happened, before age 21. Allopathic reports normal but periods irregular, scanty, painful. Despite changing doctors, medicines, no feeling of well being. After almost 9 months treatment which included liver detoxes, marma massage and medicines, the conception occurred and healthy pregnancy was the result. Good news is due by May beginning. The dosha theory of ayurveda works in such cases. Vata and Pitta were unbalanced in above case. When a person thinks, his thoughts get linked to emotions and emotions affect endocrine glands, they start underfunctioning. Hormone reports cant detect this, but marma check on patient reveals this. Just as man has adequate semen, but sperm count or quality is poor. The activity and health of sperms/ovum is linked to our bio-energy field, which has relation to what acharyas call " Ojas " . Depending on ojas/energy field, normality of cycles, ovum, sperms gets determined. The person feels fatigued after days work, would like to relax before the bedtime. If he is given herbs to boost fertility, his fatigue disappears. The effect on glands is evident. Let us not get diverted to theory which patient neither understand due to jargon, nor is interested to know. The effect of patients thoughts, emotional state on endocrine glands, periods, ovulation etc has been discussed by this author in number of posts in archives, and conception after 3-4 menopausal years is a case to illustrate how strong is the mind body connection; this connection is entirely missed in modern science, which wants to understand everything in terms of chemicals. After child birth and abortion/miscarriage, it takes time for glands to get balanced. The inadequacy of progesterone causes miscarriage, and reduced periods, breast discharge/stiffness/pain etc are due to hormonal inadequacy/imbalance. So hormonal imbalnce can be a simple statement of your condition, even though hormone numbers may be right as per modern science. When endocrine secretions mix in the blood, the blood circulation, heart beats, breathing, everything changes. Sudden fear boosts heart beats, similarly depression reduces them. Similarly the food with different tastes affects our nervous system. A nursing mother sometimes releases small amount of milk, if she imagines baby crying. The memory of loss of baby also causes similar discharge. Chronic stress, spicy food boosts Vata pitta unbalance. Lack of sunlight exposure, oily food, accumulation of ama as a result of poor metabolism, antibiosis, cadidiasis causes slowing down of perids or scanty periods. Reducing wheat, maida, bakery, fermented foods, refined floor items helps. As long as doshas do not get balanced, even if conception occurs, the pregnancy cant hold for full period. Vata and pitta are dominant forces for abortion. Ayurveda stastes: " Soumanasyajanan Garbhadharnanam " In order that pregnancy stays healthy, mind also must be cool and healthy. After abortion, unbalance tend to continue to dominate. The acharyas decided a protocol lasting 42 days after childbirth so that system returns to normal balance. In modern times, following that protocol has become difficult. When preganacy is lost by abortion, the treatment for sperms also becomes necessary. Ayurveda belives that if sperms are defective as a result of doshas (Veeryadushti) the pregnancy does not hold, even if uterus is healthy. In the Barsi case described in second paragraph, two additional causes were tobacco chewing habit of the husband and both husband and wife had nadi-dosha defined by Indian vedic astrology. Aadya nadi leads to constitution dominated by pitta unbalance. When both have same nadi, continuation of pregnancy becomes a challenge. Husband stopped tobacco fully after persuation. That is Ayurvedic approach!! Ayurveda offers many medicines for healthy sperms, uterus, hormonal balance and successful pregnancy. Damage to uterus as a result of viral fever (lasting more than 10 days) in pre-puberty days can be diagnosed and treated in ayurveda, while allopathy does not even acknowledges such a condition. Most of these medicines are taken with Indian cow milk or made as Ghrutam in Indian cow ghee Shatawari ghrutam, Phal ghrutam are helpful to restore tone of the uterus, hormonal balance, boosting fertility. Phal ghrut helps both husband and wife. But it is better taken under supervision, as dose, the length of time to be taken is best decided by expert Vaidya. To illustrate, phal ghrut or shatawari ghrut enhances its action if taken mixed in warm Indian cow milk. Do not take any food for another 90 minutes. Liver is the engine which drives the periods. Check: ayurveda/message/9158 Liver also regulates thyroid function, hence has very important role to play in building up obesity. This too has been discussed in archives at length. Thus connection between limping periods and Truncal obesity/fatty liver becomes obvious. On the other hand, a recent study published in the journal Gastroenterology has shown that of all types of prescription drugs, antibiotics are the ones most likely to cause liver damage. Diabetics are more likely to develop liver damage than people with a normal blood sugar level. Besides antibiotics, a number of other medications also have the potential to cause liver inflammation; these include: · Anticonvulsants, such as drugs used to treat epilepsy. · Oral antifungal medication. · Cholesterol lowering drugs called statins. · Acetaminophen (paracetamol). · Isotretinoin (Accutane or Roaccutane) used to treat severe acne. Taking one of these medications places us at increased risk of liver injury; however taking two or more of these medications at the same time increases the risk substantially. While endocrine gland disturbances do not register in modern science hormone tests, vaidyas are taught to detect these by simple methods using skin blemishes, skin tags, hirsuitism, marma checks, astrological charts. But patient must come to vaidya for simple checkup. Author has seen that the liver detoxification protocol restores liver function rapidly and periods improve by way of reduced pre-menstrual symptoms, reduced pains during the periods, improved quantity, color, consistency. However, these treatments are taken under supervision. When liver under-function is not a problem, medicines need to be decided after physical check up rather than email consultation. If due to distance and infeasibility of meeting vaidya, the email consultation route requires several mid-course correction, but situation here is much better if patient has seen vaidya personally at least once. Rashes and itching indicate liver problem or candidiasis as a result of food/antibiosis, simple tests are given at the following links: http://www.candidasite.com/saliva-test.php http://www.candidasite.com/candida-test.php Mild pelvic pains few days before cycle starts, and also before ovulation are caused by candidiasis.
