16 YO: Cough, toe nail, dandruff

My son is going to school in Amritsar. He is 16 YO. He has had a cough for 17

weeks according to him. We told his caretakers to use natural medicine if

possible. They took him to a vaidya. He said the vaidya asked him a few

questionsand he was out in minutes. He said that they gave him " broncho-vita " ,

a green capsule, a red and white capsule and a black ball. He did not know the

names of them. Those did not work. He also went to a homeopath and those did

not work. He does do yoga but does not especially like to do sports although I

encourage him to do sports. He said he also does sit-ups and 150 push ups a day

and does some weight lifting but does not like to run. He said the mucus is

worst at night when he is laying down. He is mostly vata with pitta. He also

said he has diarrhea. He did take antibiotics twice when the natural things did

not work. Some other students had the same thing but most took antibiotics

right away and do not any symptoms anymore. Would people recommend any

medicines or a good vaidya in Amritsar?

 

Personally, I think he has candida since he also said he has had dandruff for 2

years and is losing some hair.

 

The last thing is that he has an ingrown toenail that is infected. He went to a

doctor and the doctor said he needed an operation to " fix " it. I suggested he

soak it in salt water. Are the any other things he can do for his toe?

Vamana karma ; one of the panchkarma therapies should be done to throw the mucus

out of the whole body . You have to find a good vaidya in your vicinity or just

try to search on the list of this forum . Then after shodhana chikitsa ( vamana

) , shamana chikitsa should be done to control the kapha .
