I didn't take any of the pain killers they gave me and I was fine. Michelle
Guest guest
Morning ! .... For pain , I would use the Tooth and Gum Formula . It is amazing and I have used it for just such a purpose . Total Tonic is a great solution to using antibiotics !You should take Total Nutrtion to speed your recovery too .It will give you plenty of nutrtion and help keep you full . Smoothies will also help get you through . Hope this helps....Mary Ostrowski - " rubytuesday2020 " <christie <herbal remedies > Friday, June 10, 2005 5:30 AM Herbal Remedies - Wisdom Teeth > Hey all :-) > > I'm getting my wisdom teeth out in 5 days. Guest guest
Hi all, I'm new to the group and I thought this would be the perfect place to step in! I had my wisdom teeth out a couple of years ago. I didn't have insurance so I couldn't afford the anesthesia. I had the same situation as you with the impacted teeth, no room for them, etc. They gave me laughing gas and I didn't feel a thing. It was actually a little amusing I highly recommend it over general anesthesia. I had a surgery a year or so before having my wisdom teeth out and I still suffer effects from it - mainly skin reactions and just feelings of toxins in my body. If you can at all avoid the anesthesia all together and do the laughing gas, I recommend it. I had minimal side effects from it and nothing nearly as bad as the anesthesia. Plus, you don't have to worry about other adverse effects from general anesthesia. By the way, I didn't use antibiotics either and I turned out OK! I didn't even use an herbal antibiotic. Just lots of toothbrushing and listerine/vodka (ran out of listerine) for at least 30 seconds. I did that for 2 weeks. As for the pain, I ended up taking a narcotic. Once that lidocaine wore off I was in an enormous amount of pain. Nothing seemed to alleviate it - including the Vicodin I was given. All the narc did was take the edge off so I could stop curling into a ball and crying. I generally tolerate pain very well - I walked around on a broken ankle for 4 weeks (the docs missed the hairline fracture in the bone), so when I say the pain is bad it's not 'cause I'm a weenie! Just in case, I'd get a script and have it on hand just in case you need something more than a natural remedy. Perhaps you could find a natural local anesthetic - that could help too, but I didn't know enough at the time to take that road. The good news is that the pain only lasted for about 1 day. After that, it was just really sore and easily tolerable with no medication. Hope this helps! Tonia > > > > I'm getting my wisdom teeth out in 5 days. Guest guest
My insurance is covering the whole surgery, which is great. Thanks work and the Canadian medical system :-) I talked to my doctor, he feels that general would be best with my situation. He might have to shave some bone down. I have bought all of the herbs I don't already have, burdock and red clover mainly, to help cleanse after the anathesia. Tomorrow's the big day. I'm getting nervous! Are there any kudzu recipes anyone has? I would love to get some, email me @ rubytuesday2020. Thanks for the replies!
Guest guest
Hi, I am in my 40s and still have all my wisdom teeth. I have had some pain and swelling several years ago, but it went away. My dentist has been telling me for years to get these teeth pulled. However, I know I have plenty of room in my mouth for these teeth, as I had several pulled when I was getting braces when I was a teenager. I think if the pain was really bad and would never go away - then I would probably get them pulled. That's just my opinion. ronixo <ronixo wrote: Hello~ A few years ago my husband's wisdom teeth started to make his gums hurt and swell a little. He was preparing to have them removed when the pain went away. He did nothing and he's been fine for years. Now the pain is back. It's not bad, but it may get worse as it did a few years ago. Anyone experienced with wisdom teeth problems have comments or suggestions? Should he get them removed, and if so, is there a preferred method of removal and post surgery treatment? Or should he hang in there and deal with the situation another way? Thanks! Roni Never miss a thing. Make your homepage.
Guest guest
My wisdom tooth is bothering me. Especially, the upper-right wisdom thooth has grown little more than other upper-right teeth because the lower-right wisdom tooth has not come out yet. Now the upper-right wisdome tooth has started to touch the lower-right gum. This is causing pain while I eat. Its painful to chew food because of this. I visited my dentist last week for regular cleaning. She suggested that I go for surgery to remove all 4 wisdom teeth to avoid any future problems. What I would like to find out is: 1. Does Ayurveda recommend taking out wisdom teeth? (I don't remember my parents or other elders in the family doing this.) 2. Is there any Ayurvedic remedy to avoid surgery? Thank you.
