Guest guest
Hi - My friend has severe stomach ulcers and was advised by her naturopath to eat mainly alkalizing foods. What would be a good remedy for her. I mentioned bottle gourd (dudhi) juice. I have also heard that tukmaria (basil seeds) are very cooling. Any recommendations would be helpful. Thanks, Hiral
Guest guest
In addition to bottle gourd juice and takmaria, 1. Carrot juice is a well known remedy. Take early morning. Increase the quantity to 3-4 carrot slowly. you can mix in beet juice with advantage. 2. Two banana, especially the one known as " Elaichi " variety, with a glass of milk, 2-3 times a day is soothing diet. 3. Ginger tea ( small piece of grated ginger boiled in a cup of water for 3-5 minutes, jaggery and juice of half a lemon fruit added when lukewarm) is also a home remedy. 4. Soak 100 seeds of fenugreek overnight, drink only soaked water empty stomach every morning. In a month relief has been obtained by few. Milk, cream, butter, vegetable soups, rice cooked with milk, Roti made from Jwar, Nachni are recommended diet items. eat small portions as and when body demands. Hand milled rice (brown rice) is better, though it requires more cooking time. Khitchri made from equal mixture of rice and green gram dhal provides protein+essential fat part of the diet as well as sufficient energy. Indian cow ghee soothes stomach linings. The root cause of ulcers are synthetic medicines and stress, late night work schedules, worries, working in hot climates, sunlight etc. Unless the changes are made in these, the ulcers can grow again. ____________________________ I mentioned bottle gourd (dudhi) juice. Guest guest
Most ulcers are caused by the H-Pylori bacteria. An excellent remedy for this is Mastica root. One of the most alkalizing foods are lemons (surprisingly) and many people have found relief from ulcers by drinking Lemonade (google Master Cleanser). Hope this helps.
