Good advice Gogi. For hormonal imbalance, I would also add Angelica and Chaste Tree berries.

I have suffered from skull-crushing migraines for 15 1/2 years (or ever since my last one was born). In my case, it is a hormonal thing. Once I started taking herbs for menopause, I noticed the severity of the symptoms lessen a great deal. (I don't get the wavy lights/lines, I have such pressure in my head I have to sleep for three days). I am still fiddling around with what helps me deal with menopause and the hormonal imbalance, but I will tell you what helps me thus far. Every morning I take: Primrose oil (1500 mg) Red Raspberry Alfalfa Red Clover Wild Yam Black Cohosh Royal Jelly (1,000 mg. Don't start that high; I've been taking it for over twenty years.) Cayenne/Garlic I will add Sarsaparilla to this combination as a primary application of this is for hormone imbalance. At the VERY ONSET of a migraine, I take Feverfew, Valerian, and White Willow. Then I brew some very strong tea of catnip, red raspberry, and peppermint. If it goes to the next stage, I rub peppermint oil on the base of my neck. All of these things have served to lessen the severity of my migraines. And I mean to tell you, I get them so bad I've thought shooting my head off would be less painful! Gogi

I have always found a combination tincture of feverfew and usnea barbata to be very effective for migraines, especially the more serious cluster variety.

Here is my approach to Migraines:

1. Headache I, II ( in between 3nd and 4th metacarpals & metatarsals)

2. Lu7 deep into the wrist

3. GB 14 connect with St6 with electrical stimuli.

4. Migraine Herbal Formula made through a group of herbs by myself.

I hope this will improve your treatment results. So far it is working for my

patients 95% of the time.

The following is a very effective treatment for Migraines:

First step: TW-5 and GB-41

Second step: GB-20

Third step: Thread GB-8 to Tai Yang

Fourth step: use the following Auricular points

Ear Apex bleeding, temple, sympathetic,

external sympathetic, nervous subcortex,

coronary vascular subcortex

Patent prescription: 25 pills (BB's) 3 or 4 times per day

Chuan Xiong Cha Tiao Wan - 5 pills (BB's)

+ Xiao Yao Wan - 10 pills (BB's)

+ Pian Tou Tong - 10 pills (BB's)

Note: If the above does not prevent the recurrence of migraines

then the herb " Ban Mao " is prescribed. The Ban Mao is mixed

with some ginger juice to create an herb cake which is taped

onto Tai Yang for 5 hours. When the herb cake is removed a

small blister will appear in 2 days. Pop the blister with 2

holes to allow liquid to drain. This treatment is 100%

effective to prevent recurring migraines.
