Natural Care for Children Caring for young children can be a scary proposition, especially the first one. Every squeak, blow, bubble, etc., may give moms a fright. Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology is essential. If you have school age children, start teaching them now! When illness occurs today, most look for a prescription to cure the ailment. That prescription may cure the ailment, but it is not food, so does not nourish the body and give it the ammunition it needs to be well and stay well. Baseline nutrition is critical for this. So where do you start? You start with water. The composition of the human body is mostly water. Therefore water and proper hydration is essential. Drinking filtered water is recommended due to the high level contamination found in tap water. Breast milk is great nourishment for an ill child who is nursing. However, if you are not nursing your child, water, broth, or gruel is recommended to prevent dehydration. Due to the sugar in juice, it is good to dilute it with water to keep the sugar levels down. Lemon and water is good to aid with eliminating mucous, in recovering from flu, virus, or stomach aches. Making vegetable broth of chicken soup is good. Cut up lots of fresh onion and garlic. Peppermint Oil is also a good remedy for colds, sore throats, stomach aches, etc... It can be used both topically and orally. Peppermint tea, or candy is a staple in most homes, but the oil is more potent. Colloidal Silver is a natural antibiotic. It is a liquid that can be taken orally and used topically as well. be sure to consult your healthcare practitioner for proper use. Colloidal Silver was used before the advent of pharmaceuticals. If you never feed you child sugar laden or processed, fast or convenience foods, they will not want what they have never had.
