Guest guest
Dear Friends, Sai Ram. Sri Guru Datta. Today is Deepawali (Diwali if you prefer). In Sri Guru Charitra, there is a nice story connected with Diwali, which is not only entertaining but also illuminating the spiritual darkness in us so that we see the true nature of ourselves. People from Ganagapur and nearby villages request Sri Guru to visit them and bless them. Since all of them were pressing Him with equal fervour, He assured each of them (separately) that He will definitely come to their village and asked them to keep it a secret. Thus each of them thought that Sri Guru visited their village only and were later surprised to learn that He visited all the villages! For Him, Who is everywhere, is that difficult? Sai Ram. Another interesting story comes to mind on this occasion. Sri Sai was fond of lighting lamps (He lit many spiritual lamps from that time and is continuing today too!) in Dwarakamayi, where He was staying. He used to buy / beg for oil from the grocers of Shirdi. He was still not that popular at that time and the grocers did not know His true power. Once they decided that they will not sell or give oil to that mad Fakir. Sai was unperturbed and returned to the dilapidated Masjid (which He called Dwarakamai) and lit the lamps with water! So, on this occasion of the festival of lights, may the spiritual lamps in us be lit and stay lit. Sai Ram. Sri Guru Datta. DIVYA JYOTIR NAMOSTUTE Sri Datta Saranam mama. A clear mind leads to a good health, a holistic health. Swamy Sri-Datta-Saranam
