Guest guest
Thanks, yocheved, for sharing that site with us. It looks interesting. I read with great interest her " 7 Steps for Diabetics " because I am diabetic and I heartily agree with what she wrote. I monitor my blood sugar level regularly and, by doing this, have been able to learn how it responds to different foods. That is part of why I eat a high protein diet. It's also part of why I exercise regularly, including weight lifting. After getting into a fitness program that works for me, both strength training and cardio work, I learned that it's good for diabetics to build more muscle. It helps with utilizing insulin properly. Again, though, folks on high protein diets (whether diabetic or not) do need to take steps to protect their kidneys from the effects of so much protein so either Standard Process products or herbal remedies such as the corn silk tea are useful. - Anna , " yocheved krems " <krems@a...> wrote: > Dear Sandy, > > go to www.radiantrecovery.com , the website of Kathleen DeMaisons. Guest guest
Anne, Eating a low carb diet has helped me a great deal with cravings. As I said in another post I lost 100 pounds on a low carb diet. However, I did over time start eating sweets again. This had more to do with a fear of be sexy then with the food plan. Now, I am finding it hard to return to the plan out of pure laziness. It requires thinking about food in a different way and fixing breakfast everyday. I am now ready to accept this is not a reqiurement it is something I choose to do out of a desire to be the best person I can be. I would also love to email with others and support each other on this path. Guest guest
one thing you may condier is that there is a form of eating sweets that is not as damaging as sugars and ice creams. you can substitute honey for sugar and it does a ggood job of stiating that need for sweets, BUT the honey must be unheated honey, that is honey that has never been heated over 90-95 degrees. ALL honies are heated unless they say 'never heated' on the label. this type of honey is full of enzymes, whereas the honey that has been heated has been converted to sugar by the heat. also, craving of ice cream can signify fat deciciency, in addition to sweet deficiency. as a substitute for ice cream try avacados, or raw dairy if you can get it. raw milk, raw butter, raw cream, or fresh pressed coconut cream. RAW dairy is making a comeback in this country - because all of those bacteria scares were just that - scares. to read more go to www.rawmilk.org bon appetit
