Guest guest
Lisa My husband has a very similar problem. He works all day in the sun in 'combat boots' with steel toe caps, big heavy socks. He has always had a problem with tinea particularly between his toes and really bad cracked heels. He uses Golden Seal Ointment from the local health store which brings it to a manageable level but never actually gets rid of it. Now that its summer over here in Australia it seems to get even worse particulary the tinea. You said you made the mixture. I have never made mixtures of creams before only bought them ready made. I've seen a lot in this group people say they mix oils with a base cream. Is there a special way of doing this ??.. Is there a life expectancy of creams that you make yourself ?? .. Are they readily available like the oils ?? The other problem he has are skin cancers on the back of his hand. He travels from location to location on the railways lines fixing things so is constantly in the sun. He uses suncream now but didn't use them earlier in his life when he was living up in Port Hedland one of the hottest places in Australia. So hands on the steering wheel for hours a day travelling to a location. He uses the Golden Seal on those as well and it keeps them smooth and in winter time they generally get quite good, but once again in the heat of the summer they seem to flare up so was wondering if there was anything else he could be putting on them. The local doctor said he could freeze them off for him but they would only come back so it would only be a temporary thing.
