It usually comes on very rapidly and lasts from 2-7 days. Antibiotics are very seldom required. They are useless for the influenza virus and are only indicated for secondary complications due to septic germs. Any homeopathic remedy might be indicated for influenza. and in convalescence close individualization, individualization means your constitutional remedy. But in epidemic, and " epidemic remedy " can sometimes be found, i.e. one, which alone covers a large majority of the cases. The way to find it is to list the prominent symptoms of a series of cases and to itemize a list of remedies, which is the closest to the symptom picture. Flu with elderly people could be very dangerous, and necessitate the visit to their treating physicians. You should always seek medical advice if the remedy does not produce and improvement within six to eight hours. Homeopathic Treatment To take every 4-5 hours for 2 or 3 days, let the pellets dissolve under the tongue. Potency: 6c- 12c. Higher potency only given by your homeopath. If there is not obvious improvement in 12 hours, change the remedy Acconitum Sudden onset, high fever following chill from cold dry winds especially after sweating; anxious restlessness, fear, variable red flush face, face sometimes bluish, rapid forcible heart beats, dry painful cough. Anas Barbariae This remedy works 90% of the time for the most of common ailments of flu-chills, aches and fever. His active ingredient is found in some over the counter homeopathic Flu and cold remedies. Check on the package if Anas Barbariae is include in the composition of the medicine. Arsenic Alb Extreme weakness. Face flushed but later pale and haggard. Burning in throat or chest or abdomen yet patient is chilly. Extreme restlessness mentally nervous, worse about 1 a.m. Persistent vomiting and diarrhea. Fear of death, of being alone. Scanty acid nasal discharge. Baptisia The face has dark patchy flush; the dirty tongue is dry with a darker streak in the center. The patient is confuse, dull and lies curled up like a dog. High fever. Vomiting and diarrhea. This remedy cures many bad cases but is not a panacea. Belladona The onset is sudden, often in the afternoon. Face flushed, pupils dilated and bright. The patient is excited, jerks in sleep. The fever is high and relapsing. Sleepy but can't sleep. The throat is red and dry. There may be hiccups. Natrum Muriaticum Potency 6c If bone pains are very distressing Frontal sinus inflammation Gelsemium In some epidemics most of the cases but we must nave the similar picture. The patient looks drowsy and flushed the eyelids droop, the hands may tremble. The headache is mostly in the back of the head, like a band. There is much pain on moving the eyes and the pulse is relatively slow. Phosphorus Hoarseness and beginning of lung inflammation, the cough is hard and dry and much worse lying on the left side. Nose bleed. Great thirst for big cold drinks. Sulphur Wonderful remedy is not usually indicated in the first days, but in some epidemics it might be frequently needed when there is irregular circulation's shown by: Hot head, flushes, red lips, red ears, red eyelids, hot feet, chills running up the back.
