Their contact information is below for additional information about their testing. lyme RESEARCH Bowen Research & Training Institute, Inc. has developed a research project to identify

the presence of the Borrelia burgdorferi (Bb)antigen, the causative agent of lyme disease. Bb is difficult to detect by most laboratory methods in use today. Through our research we have developed a new test, the "Rapid Identification of Borrelia burgdorferi" (RIBb). The Bb antigen is identified by the presence of fluorescing structures upon microscopy. We also examine stained blood smears for the presence of co-infections frequently associated with lyme disease. Babesia, a parasite, is seen in red blood cells. Ehrlichia, a bacterium, is observed in the white blood cells. RAPID DETECTION– RESULTS WITHIN 24 TO 48 HOURS OF RECEIPT OF SPECIMENS! We have over 2900 positive specimens for Borrelia burgdorferi (Bb) from forty-six (46) states, including Alaska and Hawaii. In addition we have had positive specimens from Canada, Brazil, Denmark, Scotland, The Netherlands, Ireland, England, France, Spain, Germany,

Switzerland, and the Canary Islands. In 316 cases of the same blood draw, Dr. Lida Mattman cultured the Bb spirochete, confirming the testing method developed by our Laboratory. We fax the Preliminary Report the same day we receive the specimen. We mail a final report with color digital images within twenty-four (24) hours. We also report on the possible presence of abnormal white blood cells and red blood cell morphology.
