What would you like to know about juicing? Amelia ***************************** Hi Amelia, I am new to the group and wanting to learn A LOT! I was diagnosed about 2 years ago with Lupus and the doctors just want to put me on meds. I started taking Ambrotose and started feeling a little better. I told the doctor about it and he said it was all in my head. Long story there...I ended up firing that doctor:-) I also have had a hard time in finding an e-loop who wants to live as healthy as can be and not be so dependant on drugs and pity parties. PLEASE do not get me wrong. I do know many live in pain daily and sometimes it is devastating pain...I know because this is me from time to time. But, I just know there is something out there and I am seeking hard for this info. Kelly told me this was the place where I could find the answers to my questions. I am looking for what is the best book to go by in terms of juicing, daily eating habits, recipes (easy) and any other info, which could be useful. Which juicer is the best for the buck and which juicer is affordable and best for the buck? Are there any side effects when first starting? Is there any " look outs " to watch for? Any helps are truly appreciated. I am not hear to offend anyone, so please forgive me if you find this e-mail offensive. I am just trying to get healthier so I can help my family instead of them wondering what is next. This Lupus has really hurt not just me, but my family as well. I truly believe if I tried the meds first it will only hurt my family and me even more so. I am at the beginning point so I want to try a healthy lifestyle first and pray I never have to go the meds route. Once again, thank you for any information. I pray that I don't get kick out of this e-loop for my opinions:-) Blessings, Jaymie
Guest guest
Hi, Jaymie. Believe me, you won't get kicked out of this group for wanting to be healthy the natural way! That is our goal here. I also have lupus and have tried so many things, including meds of all sorts! The latest thing I've been doing (which helped me feel better) was the Gerson therapy. You can find out a lot more about it from www.gerson.org and there is also a book called "the Gerson Therapy" by Charlotte Gerson. The best juicer is the Norwalk, but it is extremely expensive ($2,000). The next best is the Green Life, which you might be able to get for around $300. Then, the Champion, which sometimes goes for $150 or so. Also check out the Hallelujah diet at http://www.hacres.com/home/home.asp It is very similar to Gerson. Best of luck and feel free to ask anything in this forum. Guest guest
Hi Jayme, I am a cancer survivor and I do alot of juicing. My juicer is a very inexpensive " Juice Man " juicer. I get the same nutritional benefits using it as if I used one of the much more expensive juicers. Achieving good health through nutrition doesn't have to cost a small fortune. Start where you can afford to, but the bottom line is START and keep it up. I wish you all the best in dealing with your health challenges.
