Guest guest
Hi Salvador! More on this case: Today she said the last treatment (K 1; UB 61, 57, 40, 23, 22, 21, 20; Ear toe, heel, sole - I needle with an even method, in and out, clockwise and counterclockwise) made her feel better for a while and then the pain (left leg along the GB channel, right big toe - she calls it " Sciatica " but it is not that) came back, while she was walking. She can use a " ski " exerciser with no pain. She can sit down with no pain. She is depressed *because* of the pain. No pain, no depression. I told her to raise her arms if the pain ever comes back and see if the pain goes away with her arms raised. She is *extremely* modest and doesn't like to take her walking shorts or blouse off for needling, this affects my choice of points quite a bit. My training indicates back shu/front mu combinations, but scratch that if the patient won't disrobe. I changed the treatment this time: P 7; GB 31, 32, 7, 8, 9, 10; Ear heel, toe, sole; L 7; LI 11, 4; St 36; Sp 6; Bafeng. I also rubbed her feet with Po Sum On oil. I didn't follow up on your 2-1-6 SP - KID/ BL- LI suggestion because I didn't have a clear understanding of it. Not that I have a clear understanding of what I *did* do . . . Perhaps you can elaborate on the 2-1-6 SP - KID/ BL- LI? <snip> >with regards to gloria 12 Dec. 1926 2-1-6 SP - KID/ BL- LI So this patient should be treated on the spleen, kidney, bladder and large intestine points or these organs should be tonified, or sedated? Guest guest
Pete, I love your enthusiasm but it is hard for me to to be enthusiastic in return if you disregard what I have shared to date. I will happily give you my time and attention but if you are to learn what I have to share I need you to restrain yourself from needeling all over the place. other wise your feed back will be confusing and you will do your patient no favours. I know it is hard when you are with a patient and feel under pressure to come up with results. I may have misunderstood you but you dont appear to have needled as I have suggested. To Ton. in turn clockwise ONLY and then out more or less straight away. to sedate in turn anticlockwise and leave in for 10-20 minutes. what about changes in saliva? you make no mention. If a patient improves after a treatment but relapses after a couple of days surely you had done something right? Rome wasn't built in a day. I an not there with you, so require your feedback to asses. salvador --\ ----------------------- >Hi Salvador! > >More on this case: Today she said the last treatment (K 1; UB 61, 57, 40, >23, 22, 21, 20; Ear toe, heel, sole - I needle with an even method, in and >out, clockwise and counterclockwise) made her feel better for a while and >then the pain (left leg along the GB channel, right big toe - she calls it > " Sciatica " but it is not that) came back, while she was walking. Guest guest
Hi Salvador! Please don't be offended, but far from disregarding your suggestion, I didn't *understand* your suggestion. I posted as much a couple of days ago and you did not reply, so I went ahead with the next appointment treating the patient as I usually would. This last post I repeated my question thus: > > >with regards to gloria 12 Dec. 1926 2-1-6 SP - KID/ BL- LI > >So this patient should be treated on the spleen, kidney, bladder and large >intestine points or these organs should be tonified, or sedated? I am in >the US, Florida. > and you still didn't reply. Maybe you didn't notice that I wasn't reading you? The teachers I had in school (graduated 1998) said the even method was the thing to use, the tonify and sedate was not was not going to make any difference from the even method, according to them. However, I don't mind trying it your way once I understand what your way is. So, to repeat myself (sorry) what does 2-1-6 SP - KID/ BL- LI mean? Does this mean treat on the spleen, kidney, bladder and large intestine points or these organs should be tonified, or sedated? Or does it mean something else. I know that you know what you meant, but I don't know what you meant. If I can get it clear what you are suggesting, I will most eagerly try it. Thanks for your patience. By the way, there are two different patients with depression, different birth dates. The other one is on another post. At 07:02 PM 3/3/2004, you wrote: >Pete, I love your enthusiasm but it is hard for me to to be enthusiastic in >return if you disregard what I have shared to date. > >I will happily give you my time and attention but if you are to learn what I >have to share I need you to restrain yourself from needeling all over the >place. other wise your feed back will be confusing and you will do your >patient no favours. Guest guest
Hello Lisa, I struggle with depression too. My depression is a result of anxiety. I worry, get overwhelmed, and then want to give up on everything... I have been working on natural remedies and nutritional healing. Until you can get him to do the cleanse, try these remedies: I find that the following works best for me: SUNSHINE, as early in the day as possible. Vitamin D deficiency is documented as causing depression. If he can't get outside before 10 AM for 30 minutes of sunshine, get him to take emulsified cod liver oil. They flavor it now and it is tasty. PASSION FLOWER, I make a tea, you can buy it ina tea bag or loose powder. I drink it 2x a day and it relieves stress, anxiety, and insomnia. It literally allows me to focus on the present instead of dwelling on the past or worrying about the future, and you don't even feel it working until you realize how clearly you begin to think and feel. MAGNESIUM, Doc has a lemon egg formula that gives you calcium. I use the lemon egg juice and make lemonade with it. Then I take magnesium with the lemonade. Or, if you want, you can buy a cal-mag liquid that you can get him to drink. Magnesium is good for any stress, tension, or muscle cramps... IE tension headaches that ruin my day. Magnesium should always be taken with calcium, it helps the body use it better. Hope he feels better soon. ===== Love and Laughter, Theresa M. I don't think the tea will be to hard to get him to take, I usually try to make him some every night. Most herb shops carry it in capsules and tincture form. Not sure which form would work best for you....perhaps someone else will chime in soon. Guest guest
I personally found no help for deppression through the use of St. Johns Wort (it is good for mild depression) However I did find amazing results with the use of Sam-E ! The best brand that I found of high quality from all my research is from Nature Made - but what ever brand you chose (if you chose) always buy enteric coated! It must be taken on an empty stomach. Also you are best to take only in morning and or early afternoon as taking it vefore bed May cause you to not feel tired - however it certainly is not an energizing type like ginsing or anything like that. Guest guest
Hi Rebecca, You have some to the right place! First of all there are vitamins that are natural antidepressants. You need to make absolutely sure you're getting calcium and magnesium, and also your B vitamins. B1 is a natural antidepressant but it needs to be taken with B Complex, Vitamin C, Vitamins E, A and D as well so you don't develop a deficiency. Also, Lobelia and Kava Kava are great for stress. St. John's Wart is an herb that many have had success with for depression. Email me privately for more information on how to get the best vitamins. Guest guest
Yes - Kava Kava is AWESOME! This is another one that Big Pharma is trying to squash through having the FDA put out negative press on it. But it truly cures anxiety and "terror stomach" which i used to get. I used to be so nervous I could not sleep or eat for days... and Kava was the ONLY thing that helped it. Also Lobelia helps but I find I have to take a lot of it. Guest guest
Hi Deana, I wanted to add more personal experience as well. I think even the label "depression" as an "illness" is way too general. There are many, many underlying physical illnesses and nervous system deficiencies which can cause us to feel bad. PMS alone, which is caused by a drop in the body's calcium levels, can make you feel all kinds of terrible. But I think nowadays what doctors should do is test the person's sleeping, eating and exercise habits before they label them "depressed". I have had an underlying kidney condition for years which I didn't know about. All that time, I would have insomina sometimes and various hormonal rollercoasters, and what I didn't realize until this year, getting educated, was that was my BODY's way of telling me..... " hey, there's something seriously wrong in here!" So I think that depression is a symptom of physical trouble, a lot of the time. True, it's also a symptom of something bad happening to you.... but that is when I take B vitamins and miraculously I am able to "get over it". Hope this helps everyone on the group!!Lane Deana <squeekyme wrote: I personally found no help for deppression through the use of St. Johns Wort (it is good for mild depression) However I did find amazing results with the use of Sam-E ! Natural methods can sometimes backfire. 2. If you are pregnant, consult your physician before using any natural remedy. 3. The Constitution guarantees you the right to be your own physician and to prescribe for your own health. Guest guest
A good health food store should have " whole food " supplements. The body recognizes the ingredients over synthesized chemicals. herbal remedies , " Holly " <peacefullone@g...> wrote: > > Where would I find this info? > > > - > " zengirl04 " <zengirl04> > <herbal remedies > > Monday, February 14, 2005 4:52 PM > Herbal Remedies - Re: DEPRESSION > > > > > > > > > > Try a " whole food source " B complex (not synthetic). Guest guest
Also ... the suggestion that was made about exercises - spot on! It does make a difference. If you don't currently exercise, then shoot for at least 5 minutes outside. You'll be surprised how quickly that adds up to 30 or more. herbal remedies , " Holly " <peacefullone@g...> wrote: > > Where would I find this info? > > > - > " zengirl04 " <zengirl04> > <herbal remedies > > Monday, February 14, 2005 4:52 PM > Herbal Remedies - Re: DEPRESSION > > > > > > > > > > Try a " whole food source " B complex (not synthetic).
