The last time I was bound and determined to lose weight, and to detox and was focused on something longer than the 2 or 3 days. I retrospect, the first 3-4 days are absolutely the hardest. As time wore on, the detox wained and my body felt stronger with each passing day. I became mentally stronger as well. At first I was very dependent on the fresh juice (mostly orange, apple, grape to start) in the beginning. I was drinking a gallon of water a day as well as a quart of wheatgrass juice. As time wore on, I drank less juice and switched from filtered water to distilled water. I found a HUGE weight loss difference distilled vs. filtered. Upon further reading, I cut down on the orange juice, and did more of the other two as orange isnt good for weight loss, and I can anecdotally back that up. Tim, there are temptations ALL around us. As I did more reading I got little hints such as drink when you're hungry, and learn to distinguish the difference between thirst and hunger. Don't watch TV, it sounds silly but TV is FULL of nothing but stimuli for food. The biggest temptation was the smell of food. I stayed away from even trying to smell it. When I did cheat (something other than water, or fresh juice) it would be tea, some sort of broth, maybe a sugar free popsicle now and then (the Life Saver sugar free were good, I have since bought popsicle molds to make my own out of fresh fruit juice). My big test was a Super Bowl party. Armed with a couple of bottles of juice I made out well. When I went running, I felt much stronger even after so long without food. I ran further, faster and stronger than I had since I was a teenager (I'm early 40s now) Again, with each passing day I felt like I had the will power to go as long as I wanted. It's a fantastic feeling. I eased back into the "real world" with juices, and raw food and that has been 95% of my diet since. I have lost another 5 over the last couple of months, still drinking at least a half a gallon a day of distilled water, and training a couple of times a week. I still want to lose another 20-25 lbs to be at my ideal weight (rather my ideal body fat %, I've gone from 41% to 25%, and am seeking a sub twenty goal). I decided to plateau here for a little while, getting my body acclimated to it's new "self". Set your goal for at least five days. In my experience, if you can get over that hump, its relatively easy from there. You CAN do it! Elia Regina <erspreviato wrote:---40 days only juices??? how come... it seems to me very tough.. Guest guest
Hi Tim, I finally found a way to have a destiller shipped to me here in Brazil. I friend of mine is in Pompano Beach and he's bringing it to me. The companies don't deliver it to South America. For now, I'm buying destiled water in galons of 5 liters. Here it's not common for domestic consume, only for dental equipament. I'm doing well. The destiled water tastes good. My two teens are drinking it too. Thank you very much for the post. I"ll keep you posted. Elia REginaTim Campbell <timcall escreveu: john <eaglesfann88 wrote: I decided that I wanted to do a week at first. Some people make solar powered water distillers: http://home.att.net/~higley.family/sub4.htm http://www.nerc.gov.jo/Solar_still_method.htm http://www.i4at.org/surv/sstill.htm
