Guest guest
Subject: Re Natural Deodorant Dear Ian, Some time ago, I posted a Natural Deodorant Recipe on this site. I had not tried it but acquired the ingredients and tested it. It works extremely well for me. II have not had a big problem with odor as I eat very little meat and only Organic Foods (when I can). I changed the recipe a bit because of the price of the ingredients and because I decided not to use the grapeseed extract but to keep the deodorant spray in a cool place. The original recipe was :- 1 oz garden sage tincture in alcohol form 1oz witch hazel extract 10-20 drops essential oil blend. Use sage, coriander or chamomile to fight bacteria and add another one that has a fragrance you like. 5-10 drops grapefruit seed extract, a natural antibacterial agent, used here as a preservative. I used the garden sage tincture (which Imade from my sage growing in my garden - Salvia Officinalis -), the witch hazel, 18 drops of sage essential oil and 2 drops of peppermint oil. This does not give any sort of " perfume " which suits me fine and works throughout my working day. I have yet to test it in the heat of a Florida summer, but thought I better report back on its efficacy ,...much love .......Penny
