Dear Ian,

Some time ago I made a Tincture to help a friend with

Hypothyroidism. She had been to hospital and they gave her various

medications which were not working. She was extremely tired, loosing

weight and could not work.

I did some research and suggested that she continue the medication

advised by the doctors but I came to the conclusion that she needed some

herbal help.

It worked.

She stopped losing weight, could sleep and has now gone back to work

The first tincture I made for her was Gotu Kola Tincture.( 5 partsGotu

Kula and 1 partCayenne Pepper)She took I dropperful 2 times a day.

After a week on Gotu Kua, I got her to take a tincture made

(basically)from a recipe I found in Dr. james Dukes book (The Green

Phrmacy)

I altered it a bit to fit her explicit condition. It was made of:-

1 part Gentian

1 part Red Pepper

2 parts Kelp

2 Part Saw Palmetto Berry

1 Part Mustard Seed.

I used Vodka as the tincture medium for each tincture. She took this

3 times a day. Each tincture was to be pulsed (take for three weeks and

stop for one week) which is why I suggested starting the Gotu Kola

first. Also GK is specifically good for the Thyroid Gland and I wanted

the Thyroid to be 'helped " a little before we hit the body with the

second formula. As she wasn't eating, the Gotu Kola actually helped the

appetite before we got onto the next tincture....

Just thought I'd let you know how this got on as I remember asking

your advice on it as well.....Much love Penny
