U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is underway and

greatly threatens the health care privacy and freedom of

The mainstream media have been touting the medical privacy

regulations proposed by the Department of Health and Human

Services (HHS), but what they have not told you is that under

the proposed regulations the following people and organizations

(to name a few) will have access to your medical records and

those of your children without your consent or knowledge:

 

1. law enforcement officials (no warrant needed)

2. medical researchers and students

3. governments agents

4. banks in order to process health care payments and premiums

5. government health data systems.

 

" The proposed regulations do not guarantee true protection of

medical privacy. In fact, they are the first step toward

creating a centralized database for electronic medical records, "

according to a special report published by Institute for Health

Freedom.

 

HHS will accept comments from the public about their proposed

rules until February 17, 2000. Please help stop this
