Guest guest
You probably need to let her run around sans undies until it clears up. What type of underclothing is she wearing? If not all cotton, that could be contributing to the problem. Oatmeal baths should help control the itching...Aveena makes a good one, if you want to go commerical. If not, baking soda baths are wonderful too. I remember taking them when I had chicken pox wayyyyy back when. Guest guest
Sounds like her body is trying to tell us that she's eating or drinking something she shouldn't. Also it is possibly something trying to get out of her body that got in a while ago and the body is trying to detox it out. Prickly Pear will definitely handle the itchness but you need to go to the source of the problem here which is most likely something in her diet. From 2 to 3 yrs of age can be a trying time for a child as they can pull in all kinds of colds and infections and it is difficult to get rid of them as their body is trying to operate more and more on its own immune system which is still in its development stage. Echinacea will help get rid of the little red bumps (do you know what they are?) especially if you mix it with TotalTonic (SuperTonic), What does she eat on a regular basis? Any junk food? Anything with even a trace of white sugar in it? How about anything with hydrogenated oils in it? Diet is the first place I'd look here. I really would like to get her some relief and I would like for one day not to have to tell her to get her hands out of her pants. I have used basic skin ointments on her. They give a little relief- but it doesn't go away- it's the only place that seems to be affected. June
Guest guest
Too funny--how we approach this from different angles, Dr. Ian thinks diet and me, mom, thinks aha, potty training age and possible plastic pants over undies. With not enough air getting to the behind, I've seen that cause a rash like that. Not to say that either one of us is approaching it wrong, just struck me as slightly humorous tonight. Guest guest
Hi, I just thought I would share this little tidbit of information. When my son had a horrendous rash on his bottom we did three things to clear it up and the rash was completely gone in three days. 1. Let him go naked for at least an hour at a time three of four times a day. 2. Used solid regular crisco on his bottom instead of powder or desitin type products. 3. Stopped using regular Tide detergent. We now use only unscented, non bleach containing detergents. Changing detergents also helped me to permanently get rid of what I thought was a chronic yeast infection. It turned out to be an allergic reaction to the Tide. And Tide was all my mom ever used when I was young. I hope this helps. Mary Beth
