I think this says it all. I'd like to go a step further and say that I trust nothing the FDA puts out. IMOHO they are simply a tool of the Pharmaceuticals.

QUESTIONS ABOUT VALUE OF USP LABELSby Leisa PichardEarlier this year, I suggested looking at herb and vitamin supplement labelsfor the USP (United States Pharmacopeia) logo as a way to check for quality.Recent work by ConsumberLab.com has raised doubts about the value of thatlogo. In tests this summer involving vitamin C supplements, ConsumerLabfound 15 percent failed to live up to label claims, and products claiming tomeet the USP standards faired no better than those that didn't make suchclaims. The USP doesn't test products; it just provides guidelines forprocessing.
