Guest guest
Jamie, Can you describe the coffee press? And can your husband give me the description of the wood press he is going to make? Guest guest
Just thought I would let you all know I purchased an 8 cup coffee press and used it today to try it out for pressing tinctures... I was amazed, what was left in the bottom was very dry! No wasted tincture. My husband is also making me a press out of wood but it will be a bit bigger and this will be handy for most things I need to press. Guest guest
I will have to get details from my husband for you! The coffee press is a glass container, with stainless parts. If you were making coffee... You would place the grounds in the bottom and pour in water, then when it brewed you just push the " plunger " down, it is a nice tight fit, and the liquid rises through the fine mesh. It has a pour spout too so no mess, unless you press to fast! With the lid off I find you just need to press slow and steady so no mess! What is also nice is it also had stainless " cross brackets " to reinforce the press so it has enough strength to press the tincture. I don't drink coffee but thought this would work and it works so well. Does that describe it well enough for you? Guest guest
He is making a " canister " out of wood, I think with a router... going to use a c clamp and fabricated piece of flat stainless steel to push it down. We haven't decided to put a hose on it or what to let the tincture out.
