Dear Herbalists,

I would like to pass on a great idea from Lorrie on another list:-

During cold season, no citrus peel is composted before

spending a day in our uncovered crockpot in hot water,

surrendering its essential oil to our shared airspace.

We usually add eucalyptus in some form as well. These

aromas deactivate/kill airborne germs and viruses, so

we end up sharing fewer colds among the family or from

visitors or friends. It is also a refreshing scent for

cooped up winter blahs. The reason for using the

crockpot is for greater volume of moisture in the dry

heated air, with fewer refills required than for

vaporizers or humidifiers............Love Penny

What a wonderful idea. Really have to drag out that crockpot now- I always hated putting the good smelling peels in the pail. Now a good use- thank you.
