Guest guest Posted February 11, 2001 Report Share Posted February 11, 2001 Yeast made with peach leaves In the evening: Pick and wash about 2 handfuls of fresh green peach leaves. Pour 2 cups of water over leaves: bring to a boil. Aadd 2 cups flour. remove from heat and cool to lukewarm Dissolve 2 tablespoons commerical yeast in 1/4 cup warm water. Add flour mixture and mix throughly. Let set overnight. Stir down and let rise again ,about 1 hour. Then add enough cornmeal,so that the dough is quite stiff and can be rolled into a 2 inch diameter roll. Cut slices 1/4 inch thick. dry throughly at room temperature for 2-7 days. Wrap in wax paper or plastic wrap and store in am airtight container. One slice of yeast is enough to make 3 loaves of bread. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
