Guest guest
OK folks its me again with my to be or not to be root canal. I had thought of having tooth extracted but then that will require damaging a tooth to get a bridge in there (lower molar near front). I have looked at the information from Dr Westin Price about the dangers of root canals harboring bacteria. Of course if you have the tooth extracted and you don't do a deep cavitation into the bone apparently you get the same effect! I am on antibiotics for abcess and using T & G formula. I know we heard some horror stories about root canals anyone got a good (positive) one for me? At this point I am so undecided that I am losing sleep! My husband read the info against root canals and thinks it is strange that even another alternative dentist hasn't done more recent tests to prove the point about harboring bacteria. Also seems that the people telling the story are always selling a book. So I don't know what to believe. You can email me privately if you wish. Guest guest
I was using Olived Leaf extract, Echinacea/Baptisia tincture (HerbPharm) for mine until I read that abcesses can cause serious problems so I went on an antibiotic which I think is the safest way to go. I think when a root canaled tooth abcesses they access through the gum (apoectomy or something like that) or take out the tooth. Where is your tooth located, anywhere important ha ha. If mine was a back molar I would not hesitate to go ahead and have it out but my molar is near the front. OH very important, if you have it out make sure they go in deeper than normal to remove ALL bacteria, if I have mine out I am going to a special oral surgeon who is familiar with that. If one believes root canals are bad because they harbor bacteria the same applies to an extraction. If you do a search on root canals it will tell you about that also. Thanks for sharing and sorry you are having a problem. > well, funny thing to ask. i had a root canal years and years ago. probably > about 10. i am now having an abcess due to that root canal. i didnt have > any probs until the last year or two, now, every once in a while a small > pocket comes up... right now it's a bit bigger than the past ones have > been. so, i dont know what to say. this is the first prob i have had with > them. i have had several over the course of the years. but, i would like > to know any suggestions for dealing with the abcess. i am taking the super > tonic, and some ickynasia (my word for the foul tasting tincture). and > taking a spoonful of honey. any more suggestions? i am currently working > on getting some tooth and gum stuff... > > starry
