Guest guest
Gina, I don't take hormones anymore. Took birth control pills for PMS, but went off because of side effects. I was on synthroid for hypothyroid but went off them also. My thyroid corrected itself. I heard that's rare. I only take sleeping meds. about 3 times a week because all the herbal nervines are diuretics in my system. I am,however, still looking for new ones to try. I don't get a 4 hour block of sleep ever. I made a St. John's Wort tincture and am going to see if it helps depression. You say you have depression also. May want to make some also. You hang in there, positive thinking does wonders!! Take good care and have a great day. Love, Renee and Jerry
Guest guest
Kelp is a thyroid stimulator. Good source of Iodine. You must take 4milligrams per day, which is 1 teaspoon. I take Total Nutrition as well. Another great source of Iodine and minerals.Vitamin E should be taken along with source of iodine to handle any scar tissue that has developed in the thyroid as a result of low iodine in the body. It is very easy to handle low thyroid!...Mary
Guest guest
HI Renee, I have very similar problems to what you describe. Earlier in the year Penny turned me on to Gotu Kola to help regulate your thyroid and hormones. For me it is a wonder herb. I also do the cayenne in the morning. I drink liters of distilled water, use natural progesterone cream for part of the month, and at night use Passionflower and kava. I am using less of the Natural progesterone cream as I increase and see results from using vitex, and dong quai. On occasion I use a valerian/pf/kava/hops mixture that I buy commercially. I also stay completely away from caffeine except for my breakfast tea. A I don't always sleep through the night but I am finding that I have more nights where I wake rested. When I feel a little agitated I take a herbal bath or an epson salt/baking soda bath. I suspect a magnesian deficiency for part of my problems so the epson salt baths are good for correcting that. For me personally, taking care of the thyroid and other hormones also fixes the anxiety/depression since I think they are a result of the imbalances. When I feel anxiety creeping in, I take that as a sign that things are getting out of whack and take appropriate action. Not sleeping is hell and its taken me about 15 years to realize why I had this problem. All i can say is Thank God for the internet and forums like this! Guest guest
Renee, I am winning the battle with my depression. I am doing lots of mediations and affirmations. I found my stomach very irritated lately so I can take St. Johns Wort. I do take Don Quai and Kava Kava. I was going to make some Kava Kava tincture tomorrow. I am having problems swallowing all the vitamins I am on so I am switching to tinctures on some things. They seem to not be so harsh on my stomach. Thanks for the kind thoughts. Guest guest
Dear Gina, I don't know how much white sugar, white flour and coffee you drink, but you might want to try cutting back on 'em and finally cutting them out altogether. Just a thought. Guest guest
I have been cutting out sugars, white flours and the such for a while. I quit drinking coffee all together a few months ago. I do need to cut out the occasional coke. But the sugars I am working on and the white flours are really not that hard to cut back on. Getting better at it. LOL Thanks Gina
