Guest guest
The Latest Mad Cow Disease News Jeff Nelson has posted two new magnificently researched Mad Cow Disease stories on the front page of his website: http://www.vegsource.com Nelson has interviewed key " players " including Linda Detweiler of USDA and scientists who have developed a readily available test to determine whether American cows are infected. Excellent investigative work, Jeff! The National Cattlemen were quick to condemn Jeff's article: http://www.vegsource.com/articles/bse_ncba_response.htm Meanwhile, cattle burning continues in England. Estimates are that England has suffered $6 billion in losses. Burning infected cow carcasses may not be good news for those standing downwind of the funeral pyres. News out of Great Britain indicates that the active substance that causes Mad Cow to spread to humans, the prion, can be carried by the wind. Temperatures generated by mass burings are not high enough to destroy that crystalline particle.
