Guest guest
Kristina, I don't know if it's necessarily systemic or not. I have been plagued with external yeast manifestations for years. One thing that can really help to get it under control is to take two showers a day until the itching seems to go away. Then be sure to continue to take one shower every day, without fail. Next is an important step that I discovered: I run the water as hot as I can stand it, especially over the yeasty areas (BE SURE NOT TO GIVE IN TO SCRATCHING AT THIS POINT OR YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO STOP!!). This seems to open things up so that it is easier to get the toxins out (?). I don't know. But it works. I then soap the area thoroughly with a tea tree oil soap. Rinse. Then run the water as cold as you can stand it to close things up. I call this hydrotherapy, though it's just a process I made up. DO give yourself a CLEAN towel EACH time. That is very important! The yeast, of course, will remain on a used towel, especially if it stays damp, and it could very well reinfect you. Zinc ointment helps sometimes. It's the base for baby bottom creams (for yeast rashes, but most people don't know that's what their baby has). You can get that at a drugstore. I don't know how healthy or unhealthy that stuff is. Hydrogen peroxide helps sometimes too. But watch out, it can bleach your hair. If these are not safe and natural remedies, someone please tell me. I apologize if they aren't. Of course, tea tree oil is great for these rashes. But daily showers, especially twice in the beginning, is what helps me the most. Change/wash your bra often too. Keep your feet especially clean and dry (wash several times a day if you have any problem there). And if you have any anal itching, be sure to do every thing you can to get that under control because the digestive tract can be where the yeast is coming from. Guest guest
Thanks for the advise Cheryl. I actually did try some zinc cream last night and it helped tremendously. I am going to try your "hydrotherapy" approach today! Thanks again- Kristina mountainlady wrote: Kristina, I don't know if it's necessarily systemic or not.
