I have a question for my sister. She is prone to yeast infections, and just got another after several months without them. She wants to know if there is something she should eliminate or increase or add from/to her life that will help control or stop the infections. Thanks! Guest guest
A colon cleanse, acidophilus taken orally and/or in a douche, and a dairy free diet are helpful in my experience. Guest guest
Hi I did have the same problem and sometimes it pops up again. I took the infections as a sign that my hormones were imbalanced. I try to correct that problem and the infections seem to stop occuring. Something like the Female tonic would be good. I also don't use soap and switched to Desert Essence Face wash. (it has tea tree oil and works for me). I didn't use the female tonic per se but use chasteberry, dong quai and for awhile I used natural progesterone to balance me out. If I ever get off my behind I would like to start the female tonic that Ian has mentioned. I also try to stay away from sugar or flour. Cindy > > > I have a question for my sister. Thanks! > Hi Lif, Suggest you checkout the following: http://www.lef.org/protocols/prtcl-028.shtml CANDIDA (FUNGAL, YEAST) INFECTIONS A female friend found 2 g of MSM a day stopped it dead. http://www.nutriteam.com/msm.htm Candida Yeast: This organism belongs in the large intestine, where it co-exists with acidophilous and prevents the take-over of harmful bacteria. When acidophilous is damaged or eliminated by antibiotic use, Candida can overgrow to the extent that it becomes " systemic " , i.e. gets into the blood stream, where it competes for nutrients and emits waste materials that produce myriad symptoms of disease. MSM, by balancing the pH of the blood stream and tissues of the body, prevents Candida from living anywhere outside the intestines, where it belongs. ======================== Good Health & Long Life, Greg Watson, http://www.ozemail.com.au/~gowatson gowatson
Guest guest
If you wear really tight clothing or underwear, it is a breeding ground for yeast. sleeping with no underwear has worked for me. also eating a lot of yogurt i heard helps a lot, just make sure it's yogurt with LIVE cultures, it should say it on the label. using unnatural products from the store can make the problem worse because eventually the yeast builds up immunity to the chemicals, so it is best to avoid them if the infection isn't that bad. i'm not sure, but i heard you shouldnt' use soap because it kills bacteria that you need to fight off yeast. the same with all non-natural products such as douche or fem-sprays. g'luck Irene In a message dated 6/1/01 5:13:54 AM Eastern Daylight Time, herbal remedies writes: Yeast infections Hi gang - I am on the road mostly these days, getting a memorial/art show together for my late husband, and can't get online to check out archives, so sorry if this has been asked and the answer is already available.
