I believe MSM is Methylsufonylmethane - a good form of sulfur. Sulfur

is a key element in garlic.

I've been told that MSM comes from the pulp and paper industry = trees. It was apparently discovered when the p & p industry dumped it on roads to keep the dust down and observed that wildlife flocked to it and drank it and looked very, very healthy.

Garlic has approx. 78 different sulfur compounds in it and when it is fresh and organic, I don't think you can beat it. I much prefer fresh, organic garlic to MSM as it is raw and unprocessed but if garlic is not available, convenient or one objects to it, then MSM is, I feel, an OK fill in or second choice.
