Guest guest
Dear Peela and Steve, I have been reading your posts with interests and have thought long and hard on your views on healing. In my personal view, we are dealing with three factors when handling the human being. The body. The mind . The spirit. I put the spirit last even though I think it should go first. Why? Becasue the lame walk and the blind see just becasue of someone's faith or because that personhas had a blinding revalation or moved from an area that was hostile to him or her or whatever. We have all heard about miracles. then, secondly, there is the mind. Who knows what computations an individual has inhis or her mind. At any age. And the mind influences the body. I have watched a man die who was told he had rheumatoid arthritus and another woman live a full life with the same disease (and she is still living and enjoying life and still not cured). He stayed in bed, took all his medications (allopathic and herbal) and wasted away. His wife went distraught. Tried everything but the truth was - he wanted to die. And then, we have the body. Each body is different. some bodies have a genetic line which is pure Northern Hemisphere and for whom milk is a food. Some have been raised for genertions around the Mediterranean and for whom only fermented milk is a food. Then - we have genetic mixes - which confused everyone. Any failure to heal another on your part as a Herbalists can be due to any of the above factors (and- of course to mistakes or lack of knowledge on your part) and I think that it all boils down to Ian's introduction. We are, ourselves, responsible for our own health. As a mother who has raised three girls, countless dogs,a horse, chickens and a Husband (the latter being the most difficult and is still i/p) . I automatically feel responsible for them. and this extends to those I give or sell my Herbs to. But, in the end, we are only offering them a way out of the situation that they have put themselves into...... So, I agree with Peela -we just have to do the best we can with what we have and realize we are not just dealing with the body..................Love Penny
