Anything yeasty, fungusy, even on the skin, I would be

looking at a candida type diet, cutting back on sugars

and yeasts- well, cutting them out for a bit.

Then tea tree lotion or direct EO kills that sort of

thing topically.

Then making sure the area was well aired, cotton

clothing (no synthetics), extra good hygeine.

Not my specific experience, but my general line of

approach.

Hi Peela,

Thank you!!!!!! Should I use straight tea tree oil? The only tea tree oil I ever saw,was in a vitamin shoppe and the bottle was very tiny, with a little dropper.

It is fairly expensive around here, but for most cases, it doesn't take much. I

have used it straight for cold sores or athletes foot, and diluted with water

for vaginitis or jock itch. I'm sure that it is like anything else, individual

and case dependant

In Health,

Steve

Perhaps not straight, it can be too strong for some

people. In Australia we have so many tea tree products

including a lotion which I would suggest. Perhaps

dilute it in a cream base or some oil. Also though,

Penny's suggestion of Black Walnut Hull would be worth

a go, particularly if its easier to get than tea tree,

I haven't heard of it topically but maybe you can, but

it would be good internally too.

I would use tea tree for anything like that, but I am

in Australia where its common and cheap.

Thank you so much,Peela, you have shed alot of light on this problem of mine.It is mainly embarrassing, I mean, who wants red blotches on their arms and back and chest???? If I get a tan,the blotches are white. It used to go away nice, when I was in the cooler weather, but I am in the tropical climate of South Florida now.

Hi Sparkey,

The other thing that came to me just now, is that

since it is an infection, why not do some immune

system boosting as well so your own system can get rid

of it.

As I said, I dont have specific experience with your

condition, but being fungal, that would be my

approach.

Sparky...

I have been fighting this one literally for years. I think it is gone and alas it reappears again. As any fungus it thrives in a warm moist environment. The tee tree oil is great, shower 3 times a day with sulphur soap before applying. Do this for at least 3 days. Continue on a once a day basis for another week. The problem with tinea (beach fungus) is that you keep reinfecting yourself with clothing, furniture, and or anything else you have been in close contact with. Wash everything you can think of that you have worn. Dont forget things that go to the dry cleaner, fortunately not much these days. Sheets and blankets. I was told that if you look at your skin under a black light you can see spots that aren't visible to the eye without it. Sometimes u think that it's cleared up but just get hot and sweaty (pardon the term. Women glow and men sweat!! Sure ;-) ) and it will erupt in minutes. Hope this helps. You can get rid of it or at least keep it at bay. Have a great day, Norma

Hi Norma,

Thank you. Where can I get that sulphur soap? I wish this horrible thing would just leave me alone, but with where I live now, there is probably no way it will. It took a while for the condition to worsen, but it really did get alot worse and the pink places are darker and easier to see, now.

Just a thought here. I know the fungus is topical, but wouldn't ingesting

olive leaf extract help control it from the inside? It is a powerful

anti fungal.

Hello Sparky....

I got the soap at the drug store. It is just called sulphur soap. I thot it had a trade name but I just spoke to a pharmacist he said it is just called sulphur soap. It's been a while. Guess I had a "senior moment". The soap is very drying. I originally got the Tinea from a borrowed wet suit. I understand it is mildly transmitable. One of my boys picked it up from me.

He had his cleared up, drove his truck without a shirt and had a reoccurence from the seat belt. Have a great day, Norma

Jennie is probably right on with the olive leaf extract. Great to attack from the inside also and probably more permanant. The MD's treat it internally with script drugs but not for me. What a great bunch. Glad to be a part of it. Norma

Are we still running a little potential overkill with the grapefruit/med thing?

Is there enough of thge " culprit " ingredient in the seed extract to warrent not

using with meds? ...and remember, it is only a small number of meds that are

effected by this.

Does anyone know if the " offending substance is present in the pith, or a couple

of drops of extract to warrent a phobia??

Hi Sparkey... I know but it is only for three days and it does help. This

too will pass.:-) I really think it is a good idea to take an antifungal

internally. I never have been familiar with using olive leaf in any form

until I heard about it from this group. Sounds impressive. Gotta run. Luv,

I really enjoy "collecting" various soaps. It's a cheap hobby, and it's fun to wash with different things. Best soap i ever found is called "Miracle II". It was made by a guy in Louisiana who says he got the recepie in a vision from God. It definitely does not dry out the skin like a lot of soaps. We use it up at the cabin where we have no running water and a little soap has to go a long way.

Yes! Grapefruit seed extract has really worked for me with candida

overgrowth. I have taken olive leaf extract internally in

combination with other anti-fungals as well, and it works too. My

experience with fungus has been that taking anti-fungals internally

is a must.

Sparky, since you don't take meds the interaction wouldn't be an

issue. Steve, personally, I find myself wondering, when a new

interaction is found between an herb and a med, why is the OBVIOUS

recommendation always to drop the herb and not the med?!!
