Guest guest
Hi Deana, I must have missed something along the way. What is bf? I think in terms of my dairy goats where bf means butterfat but I'm sure you don't mean this? Guest guest
Jean, it's breast feeding. Took me a minute, too. At 65 it's been a loooooooong time. Guest guest
Sometimes when a baby is too fussy, it helps if the bf MOM drinks chamomile tea. We've been practicing this principle, where if our 1 yo son was fussy and we couldn't find an obvious cause, Rose would drink an appropriate tea or eat foods with certain spices. The one thing we have used most often this way is fennel, which is supposed to be good for " colic " , which is mostly gas anyway. Many other common remedies can be passed through breast milk, including garlic for colds, and probably even valerian if the baby is way too hyper. I would agree that psyllium should have no effect on milk, because it is neutral outside of its scouring effect. That's one of the reasons why it's such a good cleanser. Guest guest
I would add only one bit of advice to this - when using psyllium while bfing, you have to drink extra water on top of all the extra water you're already drinking. I didn't; not fun! ~~Cheers, Perchta~~~~*~~*~~- Michael Riversong herbal remedies I would agree that psyllium should have no effect on milk, because it isneutral outside of its scouring effect. Guest guest
I put a lactating mom through the entire Total Body Cleanse while bf'ing due to a lump she had in her breast which had her scared about cancer. The lump was small but hard so I was not about to take chances and the child was old enough to come off if there had been a problem. The lump was handled in several weeks and the young'un never missed a meal ;o). The reason why I feel there is no problem is because of the Intestinal Cleanse #2 formula. This formula absorbs the toxins as they come out of the body and the various organs worked on, so that they are not reabsorbed back into the body and reintroduced into the blood stream. Of course I would take into consideration the overall health of the patient before I'd just put any mom on the cleanses. Love, Doc Ian "Doc" Shillington N.D.505-772-5889Dr.IanShillington > I am wondering- I have heard that you cannot do any> cleansing at all while bf? And I have also heard> that there is minimal cleansing you can do while bf?> Anyone know for sure?> I bf for 5 years straight, and I didnt do anycleansing because I had heard it wasnt good. Inretrospect, I think it would have been ok, andactually beneficial for me, to do very gentlecleansing, then building alternatively, and watchingto see if it affected the kids as I went. They were 3and 5 when they stopped bf so I am sure I could havedone cleansing when they were that old and before- butperhaps not when they were in their first year. Itdepends on the kid too- some are more sensitive thanothers. You can cleanse all sorts of ways. You can do a simplebowel cleanse with some psyllium, as far as I knowthat wouldnt effect the breastmilk, or prunes. Ordrink extra lots of water. Chamomile tea is gentlyhealing for the liver. Or drink lots of vegetablejuices for a while as well as eating a normal but veryhealthy diet.Probably depends on how toxic you are too.I would just be careful of getting 'depleted' whichcleansing can do. Breastfeeding is more a time ofbuilding. Maybe Doc has an opinion on it, I would be interestedto know.lovepeela
