Guest guest Posted August 22, 2001 Report Share Posted August 22, 2001 I use stevia mostly in tea. I haven't done any baking causing me to try it in a recipe. The taste hasn't bothered me. My understanding is that the FDA has fought its use in this country although it has a long history of safe use in other countries. Steve, I believe, mentioned how it is used in Japan and elsewhere because aspartame is banned. The use of stevia would not be good for the pocketbooks of the big lobbying companies.
