When it's over, I get a migraine. This is your " aura " , or warning syndrome. Right now you are using it as your signal to take your medication; you might also add in a brief exercise for progressive relaxation or meditation at this point to break the cycle of stress. > you are also right about substituting another my addiction with another. > It's as if I have this radar on top of my head 'searching' out another > addiction. That lack drives us to find something to fill the gap. That is why you should not wonder why you have addictions, or feel you must be clean of addictions in order to heal yourself. Instead, you can replace the unhealthy with the healthy, and create balance. Once you discover what it is that you really need (and I guarantee you it is not anything you can ingest) then you will feel much stronger and you will begin to understand your process better. > Instead, > > focus more on body movement, psychological tension relievers, stress > > reduction therapies and most importantly, a balanced diet, lots of > > water and plenty of rest, including naps if you need them. > > Body movement, could you explain? Something, basically, that will distract your mind by keeping your body focused. Biofeedback is a great way of getting a handle on your responses to stress as well as breaking the cycle of your migraines. The water is much better for your system than anything else right now because it helps flush out your body without adding any more sugar, dyes or caffeine to your confused system. If you like bubbles, go for sparkling water, or a clear soda. You're getting caffeine, if I'm not mistaken, from your migraine medications, so you don't need chocolate, coffee, tea or colas to provide any more. They may be adding to your tension. > In my prayers last night I thanked my God for allowing me > to go through this trial with the medication because I see that it was > this trial, painful as it was/is, it brought me to begin to search out > who I really am and begin changing and growing. > You are a special person and you are very brave to be searching for answers. It takes courage to reach out and make a difference; it takes a hero to know something needs to change and go for it. Good luck with your progress, and let us know how you are doing. -- Blessings, Crow " Look for Rainbows in the Darkness " -- Rev.
