Guest guest
Hi Chrisy/Raven, I sent you an e-mail last week. You probably did not receive it. Why don't you try the MS websites below for information. There are several foundations as well as chat and support groups and even an e-mail list similar to this but for people with MS. I do not belong to it but it is available. Also, a good book to read is Dr. Roy Swank's book, " The Multiple Sclerosis Diet Book " which provides a lot of great information as well as a diet geared to slow down the progression of the disease. It can be picked up at many of the larger bookstores as well as ordered through the internet. Dr. Swank's clinic's website is: http://www.swank.org http://www.medsupport.org/njindex.html http://www.nmss.org http://www.infosci.org http://www.msaa.com/front.html http://www.klinksNco.com/ms MS is a very frightening disease, but it does not have to mean the end of hope. Many live with this and other diseases and continue to function. You need to balance the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual parts of your life. I know, easier said then done, but it CAN be done. I do it every day and hold a full-time and demanding job and have had MS for at least 20 or more years. I raised a baby totally on my own after my divorce 12 years ago. None of my coworkers are even aware that I have the disease. Maybe in the future it will get worse, and maybe not. However, I choose to believe that it will not and focus on living and being well. I meditate, go to a wonderful energy healer, take supplements but no medications, etc. Some days I feel okay and other days I feel horrible, but then again who doesn't have days like this <smile>. I have been interested in a holistic/spiritual lifestyle since I was young so that has made it easier. However, when first diagnosed I was terrified as well but then decided that I had the disease but it did not have me. I educated myself about it and took steps that I thought would help me have a better quality of living. Interestingly enough, I have a better lifestyle now than I did prior to being diagnosed and am thankful and grateful for each and every day that I can get up, go to work and live my life. Life has a different meaning now. Feel free to contact me directly if at any time you would like further information or if I can be of help in any way. Do check out the websites below which are helpful. Blessings to you and keep the faith which is important. We are all tested along the road of life, only in different ways. Signed, FB/Funbirds. Raven, huh? Birds of a feather flock together? LOL! __________________ Get your own FREE, personal Netscape WebMail account today at http://webmail.netscape.com.
