Hi Caro -- we are, apparently, on the same path. Today, I leave for

Asheville for a five day hypnosis training. I have been using visualization

techniques with one cancer client with great success. She reports feeling

wonderful for days after a session and says she can fully relax and

experience the moment. This led the way to some 'self-help' reading on

hypnosis and then I worked on a client who was grinding her teeth at night.

Making a substitute for grinding using the forefinger and thumb, she's been

astonished to report she wakes up in the middle of the night now squeezing

her forefinger and thumb together (but not her teeth) and this happens in the

day too.

Sooooo..... seeing the power of this modality, I'm off to learn from the

" masters " . I think it will be a marvelous addition to the massage arena.

Will report more when I return.

Email me some of your experiences too -- I'd love to hear more about that.

Hi Pat!

Well, cool. Who are you training with? I'll wait until you get back to

discuss any of the hypnosis stuff, then, and we can talk more about

this sort of thing.

BTW, how do you feel about substituting one habit for another (ie,

grinding fingers rather than teeth)? I know it works to solve the

original problem, but couldn't it lead to other problems? Maybe I am

imagining something more strenuous than you described. Is she just

making a loop with her fingers as a kinesthetic cue, or is she

actually grinding her fingers together?

Blessings,

Crow

Thanks, Pat, for clarifying that. I knew you wouldn't replace one bad

habit with another ;-)
