Guest guest
Hello everyone!I just joined this list yesterday and look forward to conversing with anyone. I am not a practitioner, per say, however, I have studied bodywork (Reiki and Reflexology) and use it on myself and family. I am also knowledgable in herbology and body cleansing. I'm 37 year old female and I live in Western New York state. I read a lot of books about body/mind healing and think there is definitely a link between the two. I work on myself constantly with the help of an NLP programmer who also practices TimeLine Therapy (this is a strange therapy but let me tell you..it works!!) Any way, I wanted to answer Caroline's question that I personally wouldn't mind the hypnosis along with bodywork, but I would prefer to have a woman working on me vs. a man. I just would feel much more comfortable and probably get more out of the hypnosis knowing I didn't have to worry about potential inappropriate behavior. Also, Caroline, there is an article about this exact same thing in a magazine called " Healthy and Natural Journal " Oct 99 issue. The article is about SOMA body/mind work. For more info they give the following website: SOMA-institute.com. Hope this helps you out. Talk to everyone later..Jackie

I wanted to address this to you and make my opinion known about this... I can well understand why people have a reluctance in this area, but it is no safer to assume that just because a therapist is a woman she will not do anything inappropriate or sexual to you. And just because a therapist is a male does not mean he will. Sorry if I've scared you off entirely, but it's true. I've been hit on by female therapists and clients. It happens. I get a little het up over this issue because I am a nurse and have taught in massage school, so I've worked with many very fine professional male therapists and nurses (I'm married to a great professional male massage therapist LOL) and I try whenever possible to educate people to stop looking at their therapist as a set of gonads but as a person. Anyway, enough said. Sorry I used you as my soapbox. You have every right to do what you like, but if I were you I might like to explore why I might be afraid of being taken advantage of. Is it just old stuff from my programming, or detritus from a bad experience? Etc. > Also, Caroline, there is an article about > this exact same thing in a magazine called " Healthy and Natural Journal " Oct > 99 issue. The article is about SOMA body/mind work. Guess I'll just have to try to get the magazine somewhere. Thanks. -- Blessings, Crow " Look for Rainbows in the Darkness " -- Rev.
