Guest guest
Brigitte: Well, I am just getting into Emotional Freedom Technique, and I have only been using Tapas Accupressure Technique for a couple of weeks now. But I am pleased with both of them. There is no " tapping " with TAT despite the implication, you hold the occiput of your head with one hand and three points at the bridge of your nose (bladder meridien) and forehead (over the brow chakra area) with the fingers of the other hand. If ease has anything to do with it, then TAT is the easiest, since that is the only position and there is nothing of the eye movement while tapping business; but I am also finding the distraction of EFT to be useful when an issue is particularly " charged " for me. I went to the EMDR site Michelle pointed us to (http://www.emdr.com I think it was) and the prerequisites for attendance are very high; I can only assume it was designed for use with clinical professionals only, although with the dissemination of other techniques such as EFT and TAT I wonder if that is a valid restriction any longer. I will be working with these techniques for myself and with my husband for a while before I attempt teaching any clients; I always guinea pig myself first ;-) So far, so good; but as I implied after taking the TAT weekend, these techniques are all deceptively easy and can cause a cascade of thoughts once you start focusing on an issue. It is probably best for most people to work with a partner who can " spot " for them and read the steps. Hope this helps.
