I think that this would be a good technique for someone who has been working on themselves and has become stuck. Rebirthing is an extension of breathwork, but you can use some of the same techniques without going fully into a rebirthing session. I'm appreciative of your recommendation for the Vissipana book; it sounds like this technique is something that would be suited to me. I actually have my first rebirthing session scheduled for Thursday, and I'm enjoying the synchronicity of this discussion coming at this time. I had no idea that the method could be... well, traumatic! ...and all of the wonderful input from everyone who participated in this discussion has motivated me to talk more with the practitioner before I go through with the session. I had a traumatic and abusive childhood as we all had on some level, and I would much prefer gentler methods such as the one that you described. I'm so grateful for the unbiased information you all contributed, and I'm SO glad that this came now, rather than after I had unknowingly gone to the session and (possibly) had a whole world to rebuild.
