Guest guest
Hi Jaylink: Understanding the principle behind distant healing is a different process for some, who accept the idea of prayer and energy transmission at face value on faith, and for others, who are more interested in the " whys and wherefores " ... in truth, it takes the skeptic to be a scientist, a person who would like to know not only that a flower comes from a seed, but how. One day, I feel that this will be a moot question because I will be able to hand you the scientific " proof " , but for now, the theories will have to do :-) I would suggest as reading that you check out some of the interesting basic material on quantum physics and the human energy field presented by former NASA physicist Barbara Brennan in her books, " Hands of Light " and " Light Emerging " . Along with the energy centers that we have within and part of our personal energy system, we are " linked " so to speak to sources of external energy, and to each other. This connection is the underlying reason why we experience such metaphysical phenomena as ESP. You might want to read in the archives some of the discussions of energy " cords " that develop in certain relationships, also. If you are following the concept so far, and believe that it is possible to interface one human energy field with another to help or heal by sharing focused energy in real time, face to face, then it takes only a small stretch of the mind to grasp the idea of connection over space and time which can allow energy to be transmitted to a person or situation at a distance. This worldview sees us as physical manifestations of energy that are surrounded by a sea of energy moving at various frequencies, some more tangible to our " senses " than others. Like touching the surface of a pond may send a wave to the other side, sending energy from one person to another, with focus and intention, is not only possible but probable. Have you ever experienced the sensation of being stared at across a room, known when someone you care for was in distress, or picked up the phone practically before it rang? Have you ever experienced deja vu or synchronicity (doing or saying the same thing as a person, or singing a song and turning on the radio to find it is playing)? All these are examples of energetic connection and awareness. We are aware of a lot more than the things we are consciously aware of, or even " believe " in. jaylink wrote: > Hi all, > I'm a newcomer to the list and although I am certainly interested in the > mind/body connection I am by nature a sceptic. Guest guest
Hi all, I'm a newcomer to the list and although I am certainly interested in the mind/body connection I am by nature a sceptic. The idea of auras I can live with, Chakras possibly but 'distant healing' leaves me cold. Can anyone present an argument that would suggest to a sceptic like me that distant healing is a reasonable concept to believe in. I'm not looking for irrefutable proof. Guest guest
Jaylink, Quantum physics theory says that electrons can be knocked out of their orbit. When this happens, they instantly leave one orbit and re-appear in another orbit. There is no time that passes during this phenomena. Furthermore, some physicists believe that these electrons go to the end of the Universe and back before they re-appear in the new orbit! Electrons = energy. There is another thing here. I believe that it has been proven in physics that the INTENTION of the scientist influences the outcome of the experiment. What s/he expects is what s/he gets! See Michael Talbot's The Holographic Universe [book] and The Secret Life of Plants [book and documentary film] for more on influencing matter from a distance.
