Guest guest
Sandy, Thank you for your suggestions about working for animal rescue centres. I hadn't thought about the admin/PR side, but that is certainly where I do have skills. Used to do a bit of publicity work for local govt many years ago. I will do some ringing around and see what I can find. Exciting thought! Thanks again, Sandy. Love, Jo, in Sydney

I would like to be able to do more physically than I do but sometimes have to settle for provoking new thoughts about how to manage things or ways to raise money rather than scrubbing cages and bathing animals because my body simply can't at most times handle more than dealing with my own pets. I am MOM to three Australian Shepherd mixes weighing between 40 and 51 pounds that have to be fed, watered, bathed, brushed and played with; seven cats, one bird and a very large snake who also require my attention. Some days it is all I can do to manage them and me. On other days, I do a bit better and am currently fostering a Golden Retriever/Sheltie mix, 3 months of age for the local rescue group because Animal Control was going to put a perfectly healthy, happy, wonderfully behaved (amazingly well-behaved for 3 months) to sleep because they didn't have any more space. So I do what I can and have learned to set my limits. I got involved with this group because I felt that in order to get more of their rescued dogs and cats adopted that they needed a solid web presence. I laid the groundwork for their web-site and got it on-line. We then ran into some conflict because my lifestyle/spiritual choices are considered (by them not me) to be in conflict, so rather than constantly butting heads or me feeling that my voice was not being heard, I chose to be honest with them and turned the website over to another capable volunteer. Since there is less chance of discord with me fostering a dog (since the dogs agree more with my viewpoint of the world anyway), I have stepped in to do that for the time being, but will just as quickly relinquish that task and find another way to help if it becomes a problem. So as life changes, I flow with the tide and help when and where I can. I hope you find something that brings you great joy. Bright Blessings, Angharad Truthsayer aka Sandy Roberts We within us carry all the knowledge necessary to create a beautiful universe filled with love, laughter and joy.
