Guest guest
Ellie, I lurk a lot but could not ignore your post. I have had my share of burdens too as have most. From major depression and co-dependancy to abandonment and bunches of religion induced guilt but I agree with PJ in that we only hurt ourselves when we carry around all those unhealed woulds. I stumbled on the principle of forgiveness years ago and now have found a wonderful book to back it up. While you are in your " inward state " why not pick up a copy of Colin Tipping's book Radical Forgiveness. You can download the first chapter (see Free Read) from his website. www.radicalforgiveness.com. I want you to know that I do feel compassion for you and you are not to be blamed for holding onto these things. The way I see it, it is considered normal in our society to feel as you do in response to the burdens of life but " it isn't necessary " to keep on carrying them. Read the book and see if it resonates with you. You can be whole again in body, emotions and spirit. I wish for you perfect health and peace of mind, Mary Message: 3 Thu, 5 Oct 2000 23:26:06 EDT GRANDMABEAR712 HELLO! First of all I would like to thank everyone who has given me feedback on the posts I have sent in. Sorry I haven't written to all of you before now but I've been withdrawing for the past few days. Right now is not a good time for me. It has been a year ago yesterday (Oct. 4th) that my niece and godchild committed suicide. She left 3 little girls ages 5, 3 and 6 months. Also a friend of mine for 38 years died of cancer 6 months ago. I miss them both so much. Things I've said in my posts have only been a tip of the iceberg in my life. I too Florie have gone through drugs and alcoholism. I have been clean for 25 years. Yes, I try to be strong but sometimes it catch's up with me especially at this time. I am here listening to everyone and hoping for peace. I also experience panic attacks. I'm on medication for them also anti depressants. I see a therapist once a month too. My past always seems to be right there to haunt me. Caroline, with what you said to me I would swear you know me personally. The guilt is always there. I can't seem to let it go. I was told all my life by my Mother that it was all my fault for everything. I was raised in such a dysfunctional family. I grew up feeling that it was all my doing. Well, there I go again. Thank you all for listening to me. Sometime it helps to talk about it. Thanks, My love to all of you, Ellie
Guest guest
Regarding the lady with lowered libido: Something in your description suggests to me that she might benefit in general from an " aggressive energy (AE) " treatment. What you wrote was that your patient is alternating between weepiness and irritability. This sounds like a K'o cycle phenomena that might respond well to AE. You might notice if there are other significant K'o phenomena (such as white and green colors, weep and shout, etcetera) appearing. What you wrote was that your patient is alternating between weepiness and irritability. This sounds like a K'o cycle phenomena that might respond well to AE. You might notice if there are other significant K'o phenomena (such as white and green colors, weep and shout, etcetera) appearing. AE is usually the first treatment I perform on any new patient and almost always the first treatment I give to animals. The theory is that toxic heat may be trapped in one or more organs. This must be cleared before performing any other treatments in order to avoid spreading heat along the K'o cycle. (I sometimes describe this to patients as being similar to removing stones and debris from soil before planting a garden or like doing a full format on a computer disk before placing any files on it). Keep this treatment in mind for any patient exhibiting sets of K'o cycle symptoms or who are tending to be weepy for no reason. It is a wonderful, simple, gentle treatment that is terrific as an introduction to acupuncture (almost never painful, yet can have powerful effects). It touches all the associated effect points (AEPs) of the Yin organs. I've had amazing results on animals using only this treatement. Also, I personally have received this treatment many times and always have felt great afterwards. It's a great " stress buster. " I might consider this treatment for anyone who has recently been under anasthesia, incurred trauma, or been under chronic stress (like killer traffic in a big city!) NOTES: -For safety sake, note that in elderly or very vulnerable patients, only one chou should be treated at a time. In all patients the HT AEP should be treated after all the other needles have been removed. -You may need to take three or four sessions or extend your treatment time in order to complete all the points. -Be ready to raise the temperature in the room slightly or to drape the patient after several minutes, as clearing heat may leave them feeling a bit chilly. PREPARATION: Have the patient lay on their stomach or sit on a backless chair/stool (below table level, so they can rest their arms and head against the table once the needles are in). If the patient is seated, have them keep their feet flat on the ground and their hands on their knees until you have got the needles in. TECHNIQUE: Insert needles VERY SHALLOWLY, with no action, in the AEPs of the Yin organs excluding the HT AEP (BL-13, BL-14, BL-18, BL-20, BL-23). For each chou, also insert one dummy needle at a non-point for purposes of comparing skin response. Once the needles are in, you want to look for any points where redness, swelling and/or heat appear. Compare these to the dummy needles to determine if this is normal in general for the patient or if particular points are significantly different. Leave the needles in until the redness, swelling and heat disappear. Be sure to needle (and clear heat) bilaterally. Remove the needles when the heat signs have disappeared. Treat the HT AEP (BL-15) after the other AEPs are cleared. AFTER TREATMENT: -Remind the patient to avoid hot or cold showers, wind, back slaps, etcetera for a day or so, as there can be continued clearing when they leave the treatment space. -When the patient returns for their next treatment, you may want to test (repeat the treatment) on any AEPs that took a particularly long time to clear the first time. I look forward to hearing from anyone who wants to write about their experiences treating AE, including the observations before, during and after needling.
