Guest guest
Good morning, folks... It's a little after 8:30AM here on the East Coast, USA, and I'd like some feedback as early as it is convenient for you to answer. This is going to sound really stupid, but I trust enough in the caring and understanding on this list to share my stupidity: Today, October 6, has, historically, been my " unlucky day " . Throughout my life, some very bad things (VERY bad) have occurred on this date. I finally reached the point where I put off any plans or appointments and try to stay at home on this day, just to avoid tempting fate. This is a silly and crippling reaction. I understand the concept of self-fulfilling prophecies; I don't want to consider this day a bad day, because I don't want to invite negativity. Does anyone have any ideas how I can turn things around--either in my own head, or in my universe?? I refuse to allow myself to be crippled by a silly superstition, yet this is becoming a bit more intense each year. I have important things that need to be done today, yet I'm tempted to put them off. Any suggestions on how I can banish this fear and have a constructive, *normal* day? Sorry to sound nuts...that's the way I've made myself feel about this day. Assistance appreciated. Florie

If you believe in angels, you can ask that you be surrounded by angels throughout the day and that no harm will come to you or anyone you come in contact with. Believe it and it will be so. As a pagan, I would personally meditate this morning before heading out surrounding myself with white light and creating a protective bubble (like a force field from Star Trek) to protect me throughout the day. I would stipulate the same conditions of no harm to me or others and know that it would be so. Sea salt removes negativity so you could also start the day with a sea salt bath or shower to remove any negativity from your person, thereby removing like to draw like. Hope this helps! Florie we all have ghost anniversaries, some more hidden than others, from events on our path to enlightenment. All the suggestions about whitle light and angels are good ones and things I also like to do on those kind of days. Another thought is to meditate on the lessons learned from this past experience , bless the teachers of this lesson and proclaim a new contract for your self from this day forward. A statement of proclamation out loud to the universe that you have learned all the necessary lessons from these eventsand bless the parties involved, will allow you to move beyond the energetic attachment these memorys have for you. Claim your power over your life, thoughts, and beliefs. Take your sword or the sword of the Archangel Michael and cut those energtic strings to the memories. I believe in honoring the day in a positive way and maybe still taking off work and laying low is a good thing, but use it to be a moving forward exercise. Spend alot of time learning a new way to release the day and empower your self. Another thought as I read you post, forgive yourself for doing the best you could and release with love all beliefs about unlucky days. You have to power to turn your beliefs around. You are the guardian of the end of your book. We cannot rewrite the beginning, be was can still write a new ending. Guest guest
White light is a wonderful idea - and your spirit guides. Here's one that is a little less metaphysical but may be of help. Whenever I am feeling overwhelmed I realize that I have to change my *state* (Spirit guides must have given me your post today as I have been feeling a bit overwhelmed these last few days being on hold about assisting wiith the med team in Peru - guess I needed to remind myself of this) I simply change the word to underwhelm and it makes me laugh. Self-talk. I walk about the day saying things such as " this is so underwhelming " Sounds silly huhh? It is and it works. So spend the day telling yourself just how lucky you are. All experience is a matter of perception. If that doesn't work consider October 6th as your day of the year for great learing and enlightenment. Guest guest
Cecelia-- Thank you for that lovely and thoughtful reply! More than good advice, words to truly *live* by. Guest guest
Thanks, Jaylink!! I always like an excuse to take it easy and be nice to myself!!! I appreciate your warm wishes and hope you have a wonderful day in Ireland. It's raining here at the New Jersey shore, dark and dreary, but all of the messages I've received today have truly warmed me. I'm very happy to be a part of this list and to know so many caring people. You are all blessings to me. Thanks to all, Florie - " jaylink " <jaylink Friday, October 06, 2000 3:37 PM Re: Morning replies requested > Just a suggestion, Florie, accept that this is a bad day for you. Don't > fight it.
