A few days ago following a short relaxing Yoga practice I sat with a pendulum & guided it up the front of my body while " thinking chakra " . The only action was at the Throat chakra where it began to swing strongly in a positive motion.I hadn't really formed a definite yes or no question so the results may be insignificant.Since I have been spending a lot of time lately working on an intuitive level I m taking it to mean this chakra is energised. Does anyone have any thoughts on an interpretation? Then I thought I would meditate & ask for a totem animal to help me at this time in my life.A series of flashing animals passed by my inner mind then a black panther stayed. This all happened within a few minutes so it is not as if I went into a retreat with a lot of ceremony to receive an animal guide. It is not the animal I 'thought " would appear, on the other hand what if my mind was playing a trick & it is the panther from a TV program? Or does it matter. Maybe the lesson is to trust my intuition. Would love to hear any thoughts. Wendy B.C.
Guest guest
Wendy: Your pendulum results could be something as simple as paying more attention to communication, and look at you, talking about your experience and asking for feedback... I'd call that honoring throat energy :-) As for power animals, I have very specific ones I work with on particular tasks in my life. A couple of them are more like guides and have been with me for years; some come into my life for a brief period and move on. I have worked with Jaguar and Black Panther (actually they are black jaguars) energy before. You might do some online searching about them to see what about them resonates for you, what you feel you have in common, what you feel they might offer you in special gifts. Often we are surprised by an animal we had no previous attraction to (say, a skunk, an opossum or a pigeon) that has a gift for us; the world is full of lessons, and we can't learn them all from the " fancy " animals people presume will come to them, like eagles ;-) If you are interested in animal medicine, you might want to pick up " AnimalSpeak " , a book by Ted Andrews, or the Animal Card deck by Bear & Co, which has a nice little book with it containing many common North American animals. I like Andrews' book because he also talks about insects and reptiles, which have their own significances, world animals and some mythical beasts. There are still gaps, there, though. If, say, a coatimundi came into my life, I'd have to do some research to find out why!
