Thank you to All for answering my question.

I have another one. Is it possible to become a Master/Teacher within a

year? I want to take a Reiki II. I was talking to the teacher, who told me

that she became a Master within one year from her first Reiki I attunements.

Now she is teaching Reiki for few years. I need your expert advice.

Most Reiki practioner/teachers (I prefer that term to Masters but that is a

whole different conversation) like to have at least 21 days between

attunements to allow for the cleansing period. I did all three of my

attunements within a year but would suggest that each student take an honest

look at where they are in their own healing to determine at what intervals

to progress to the next level. I felt comfortable doing mine at the shorter

intervals because I had and continue to do lots of self-healing as well as

thirty plus years of doing healing work on others in different modalities.

For me Reiki was another way for me to relate to myself and others on my

healing pathway. If you have not been doing healing work or have a lot of

self issues that you have not addressed, you might find that you want to

allow more time between attunements to settle into the energy and practice

what you have learned.

Hi Michael, it is certainly possible, but my question is what is your

motivation to hurry through the levels? Check your intention and see what

you think being a Master Teacher will give you that you do not have now. I

think Sandy was right on about doing your own self healing work or even

assisted healing work before jumping into Reiki as a life commitment. Be

careful what you pray for is one of the slogans which come to mind.

What can happen in the process of becoming a Level three practitioner is part

of the process. I liken the process to marriage. The wedding(attunement) is

not the end result it is the first step in a long process (the marriage.)

Consider for your self if you are willing to commit your life to the

principles of Reiki and work on making it successful every day from here on

out.

I have attuned many persons and taking a year to complete the process is not

out of the question. It can successfully be done. Just sit quietly and

listen to your inner guide and you will know when it is rigfht for you to

move to the next stage of your learning. Much Love to you on your path. C

Be love and laugh!!

Hi Michael:

The process of moving from " novice " to " expert " in Reiki is a

lifetime experience. I don't think we ever " master " Reiki, so the

term is fairly

relative, and I think it is more useful to use " sensei " or " teacher "

for the most part.

Yes, you can obtain the Attunements and become a Master Teacher in a

fairly short span of time. For some people, especially if they

already

have experience with energy work and teaching, it can be a short step

to progress in this way. For new people, I encourage them to work

with

the energy awhile themselves, though, find their way with it, gain

experience. This is not only useful for them, but will be for their

future

students if they plan to teach. I myself would prefer to have a

teacher who has some experience under their belt because I might be

asking for

their guidance later. Each level of Reiki has its own special growth

and challenges, and I think it is good to savor that and go with the

flow of it.

I got my Master Attunement when I was not ready to teach yet; I sat

with it for several years before I was, but they were profitable

years of

research, experimentation, questions and feedback as I explored Reiki

and the Reiki community in more depth and developed an internal

feeling of " ownership " for the responsibility of being a teacher of

Reiki. Then one day someone approached me, asking if I would Attune

them... and I feel that it was the Universe's way of saying that when

the teacher is ready the students will appear. So I did my first

class.

I say this because on my own journey I never approached it from the

standpoint of feeling that being a Reiki Master was my objective or

goal; I

simply wanted to grow as much as possible with the Reiki and

eventually be able to share what I had with others. It is the free

choice of anyone

to progress at the pace they are comfortable with, and since I have

seen people who were living in their ego knocked flat by their own

hubris

when they tried to move faster than they were ready for, I think

there is a certain wisdom in knowing yourself and accepting your

limitations,

learning to be the best you can be where you are, and developing

patience. It will happen when it is supposed to happen, not always

because

of, but sometimes in spite of you, if that is what you are meant to

do!

Again thank you for all your help. I guess what really worries me is

following. If the teacher who became a teacher within one year from taking

her Reiki I will be able to properly attune me.

Love & Light.

Michael:

I don't imagine that there is any difference in the Attunement either way, only

in the classroom experience and

the degree to which the teacher can support the student's questions or mentor

them afterwards.

Some people will have an Attunement with one person and get their " education "

elsewhere. Some people take their

classes with very experienced people who are not readily available (say at a

weekend workshop) and still end up

seeking others to support their questions. And some choose a person who will

be, if not nearby, at least

accessible for followup. That part of it is up to you; but the Attunement

should be relatively the same no matter

what.

Dear Michael;

I think that Reiki will choose the right teacher for you at the right time.

Rick and I took our first level class just a few days ago. The master was

quite young-looking and seemed a bit uncomfortable in the role of teacher

for the first few minutes. There were a few awkward moments while we were

getting to know each other. However, we bonded quickly, had a wonderful

time learning and sharing together, and the attunement was simply wonderful.

It was one of the most perfect days we've ever experienced. I'm sure that

it all happened exactly the way that it was meant to.

I would suggest that you try to stop worrying and just let it all happen

naturally. It will unfold the way it should. Trust your own instincts and

trust Reiki.

....and enjoy the experiences!!
